Katie Price Voices Concerns Over Son Harvey’s Weight Gain
Television personality Katie Price has publicly expressed her anxieties regarding her son, Harvey’s, escalating weight issues. The 46-year-old media figure and mother of five has observed with increasing worry as Harvey’s weight has climbed to dangerously high levels. Harvey, 22, whose father is former footballer Dwight Yorke, has faced significant health challenges since birth, including Prader-Willi syndrome, a condition known to cause an insatiable appetite and obesity.
Mother’s Despair Over Harvey’s Health
Determined to support her son in his battle against severe weight gain, Price conveyed her disappointment following a recent medical examination that indicated a considerable increase in Harvey’s weight. Over the weekend, she turned to her social media followers, revealing Harvey’s weight is approaching 30 stone. In a Snapchat post, the OnlyFans model shared her distress, stating, “I’m so heartbroken and gutted that his weight is just going up. I just googled it in stones, 188kg is just a few kg of being 30 stone,” according to reports.
“Life-Threatening” Situation
Price further emphasized the critical threat to her son’s well-being, adding, “It’s so life-threatening now, I’m still waiting for the doctors to get back to me starting on the mounjaro and his journey to a healthy life.”
She lamented the impact on his daily life: “It’s so sad his quality of life at the moment where he’s so big, he just can’t really do much. It’s just another thing I have to deal with because he’s at high risk of having a heart attack, he struggles to put his trainers on or struggles to walk anywhere but I love him and I’m going to help him through this.”
Price also conveyed her broader sadness, stating, “So sad, obesity and his condition is sad, it’s sad to see someone go through it and he doesn’t understand.”
Weight Management Strategies and Medical Intervention
Earlier this year, Price disclosed her decision to explore weight loss injections as a way to aid Harvey in managing his condition. She has mentioned the medication Mounjaro, which contains tirzepatide, an active ingredient recognized for its appetite-suppressing qualities.
In a previous interview, Price spoke to the press about Harvey’s weight and associated health difficulties: “The good thing about starting him on the drug is, if it has any effect, you can stop it because you do it weekly.”
Addressing previous attempts at weight management, she explained, “We’ve tried food, he’s had dietitians, it’s just the way he is. And he’s on a lot of medication which the drug won’t affect. They want to try him on it for at least one or two years, which is a long time, but they’ll control what level he needs then up it as they assess it.”
