Affordable European City Breaks: Unveiling the Cheapest Airbnb Destinations

Planning a European getaway for a large group? Opting for an Airbnb over traditional hotel accommodations can often present a more economical and enjoyable experience. However, selecting the ideal city for your trip can be a daunting task. Recent research analyzing average nightly rates for Airbnbs across 50 European cities has pinpointed the locations offering the most budget-friendly – and conversely, the most premium – stays.

Top 3 Most Affordable European Cities for Airbnb Stays

The study revealed that Warsaw, Poland, emerges as the most cost-effective European city for Airbnb rentals. Here, travelers can secure accommodations for just over £65 (€74) per night. Savvy visitors may even discover Airbnb options for under €30 (£25.73) per night, particularly outside peak seasons, in this popular destination, also known for its vibrant stag do scene.

Istanbul secures the second position in the ranking of affordable Airbnb destinations. The average nightly price in this Turkish metropolis is approximately €76.25 (£66.76).

Rounding out the top three is Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia. An Airbnb in Bratislava averages just under £70 (€80) per night.

The Most Expensive European Cities for Airbnb Rentals

Conversely, the research by OLBG identified the most expensive European cities for Airbnb accommodations. It’s perhaps anticipated that London features among the priciest, securing a place in the top three, though not claiming the top spot.

The average nightly cost for an Airbnb in the UK capital reaches £187.50, positioning it as the third most expensive on the list.

Paris ranks as the second most expensive city, with average Airbnb prices soaring to £205.49 per night.

However, Amsterdam claims the title of the priciest European city for Airbnb stays. In this popular Netherlands tourist destination, visitors can expect to pay an average of £208 per night for Airbnb accommodations.
