In her online post, Phillips stated: “And the final outlook! Thank you to the BBC, Met Office, Meteogroup, friends & colleagues who have been so good to me but especially to the viewers, listeners, Weather Watchers & those on social media who have stayed tuned & connected over the years. Forever grateful. Angie.”

Phillips honed her skills at the Met Office College and Reading College of Technology. Her career includes positions at the Belfast Climate Office, Edinburgh Climate Office, and as a forecaster at Glasgow Weather Centre and Aldergrove.
She began her broadcasting career with the ITN weather team in 1993 before joining BBC NI’s Newsline team in 1996. In addition to her on-screen role, she also contributed to the BBC News website by writing online weather reports.
