Win a Unique Stay at Captain Birds Eye’s Iconic Lighthouse Home on the Norfolk Coast

An iconic lighthouse, famously known as the ‘home’ of Captain Birds Eye and complete with a freezer stocked with fish fingers, is now available to win in a new contest. This towering 69-foot structure, located off the Norfolk coast, has been unveiled as the legendary seafarer’s ‘residence’, boasting personal maritime-themed decor. The brand’s latest competition presents a unique opportunity for participants to reside at this coastal landmark, situated a short distance from the Birds Eye fish finger factory in Lowestoft.

Inside the Captain’s Coastal Abode

In a recently released video, Captain Birds Eye personally guides viewers through his dwelling, providing a preview of what the fortunate winners can anticipate. This coastal getaway, a 69-foot high lighthouse positioned off the Norfolk coast, is richly decorated with personal items reflecting the captain’s seafaring life. Upon entry, guests are greeted by his weathered fisherman’s rain gear, a playful ‘Gone Fishing’ sign, and a surfboard casually placed against a wall.

The Lookout and Living Quarters

Captain Birds Eye proudly highlights his lookout tower, describing it as his favoured location for charting future expeditions. Surrounded by a collection of nautical literature, this space offers an unparalleled panoramic view of the horizon. In the bedroom, his navy blazers and signature captain’s hats are neatly arranged, always prepared for any maritime challenge.

A Freezer Full of Frozen Treats

To further entice potential competition entrants, he reveals a freezer abundantly filled with frozen food items. Mike Sowerby, representing Birds Eye, stated: “Captain Birds Eye has been a beloved figure in British family life for decades, and we are delighted to bring his world to life in an unprecedented way.”

Experience the Captain’s Life

“The lighthouse truly embodies his adventurous spirit and passion for the sea, and we eagerly anticipate welcoming a lucky family to experience it firsthand. Whether enjoying a classic fish finger sandwich in the kitchen or appreciating the breathtaking coastal scenery, this represents a truly exceptional chance to immerse oneself in the captain’s lifestyle and forge unforgettable family memories.”

Captain Birds Eye: An Enduring Icon

Since his introduction in 1967, Captain Birds Eye has become a lasting symbol, recognised for his nautical attire, bright eyes, and love for the ocean.

While his public image has changed subtly over the years, he has consistently represented an adventurous and family-oriented ideal. The lighthouse itself was erected 185 years prior and ceased operation as a navigational aid in the 1920s.

The property includes seven rooms, featuring two bedrooms. The primary prize for the competition is a six-night stay for up to six guests.
