Geri Halliwell-Horner has addressed speculation surrounding her relationship with Christian Horner and reports suggesting she was reverting to her maiden name. The singer and author spoke out to clarify the situation following months of media attention surrounding her husband.

Name Change Speculation Addressed

Recent reports had indicated Geri Halliwell-Horner was considering legally adopting a double-barrelled surname, leading to confusion about her official name. Previously known as Geri Halliwell and then Geri Horner, speculation arose that she would officially become Geri Halliwell-Horner.

Rumours of Marital Strain

The reports of a potential name change fueled rumours regarding the stability of her marriage to Christian Horner. This followed accusations of inappropriate conduct made against the Red Bull Racing team principal last year, which were subsequently investigated internally and dismissed by the team.

Adding to the speculation, Geri Halliwell-Horner herself appeared to reference her maiden name in a video for fashion house Dior last year.

“C’est moi! Geri, Geri Halliwell. Enchantée,” she stated in the video, seemingly using her maiden name during a Dior event in Scotland.

Furthermore, as an author, she utilizes the double-barrelled name Geri Halliwell-Horner for her published works. Her latest book, the second in the Rosie Frost series, features this name on the cover.

“It’s My Writing Name” – Halliwell-Horner Clarifies

However, Geri Halliwell-Horner has now directly addressed and dismissed the rumours of a legal name change. In a forthright statement, she refuted the suggestion that she had legally altered her surname.

Speaking to The Times, while displaying her book, she stated: “That’s nonsense. It’s my pen name. I haven’t legally changed anything — Horner is the name on my passport.”

Insights into Marital Life

Geri Halliwell-Horner further elaborated on her married life, having publicly supported the Red Bull team principal throughout the period of scrutiny.

Discussing her writing process, she revealed: “I leave my phone outside the room. Sometimes an idea will awaken me at 2am. Christian might be snoring, and I’ll get out of bed to write.”

When questioned about whether her husband reads her books, she responded: “He was reading Ice on Fire on the flight to Australia. He enjoys them.”

Family Life and Shared Moments

The couple prefers spending time at home with their children rather than dining out at restaurants. “We prefer eating in — our daughter enjoys cooking,” she shared.

She was referring to Bluebell, her daughter from a previous relationship. Their son Monty and Christian’s daughter Olivia, she added, “will clear the table for financial reward”.

Regarding Bluebell, who is a university student, Geri Halliwell-Horner mentioned: “Bluebell is studying English literature. She is a talented writer. I often run things past her.”

Bluebell’s Father and Adoption

Asked if Bluebell inherited her writing talent from her biological father, Sacha Gervasi, a journalist turned screenwriter and director, Geri Halliwell-Horner confirmed: “Her biological father, yes. Christian formally adopted her. This is public knowledge.”
