Assassin’s Creed Shadows Achieves Strong French Retail Launch
Ubisoft’s highly anticipated Assassin’s Creed Shadows has demonstrated a robust performance in the French market, reportedly selling over 120,000 copies at retail since its launch. According to industry sources, these initial sales figures in France highlight a strong consumer interest in the open-world action-adventure title.
Significant Lead Over Competitors
The retail debut of Assassin’s Creed Shadows in France significantly surpasses the launches of several other major titles. Its sales are nearly three times greater than the French retail launch figures for Star Wars Outlaws. Furthermore, it has achieved more than double the launch sales of Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora in the same market.
Compared to Dragon Age Veilguard, the performance of Assassin’s Creed Shadows is even more pronounced, registering approximately twelve times higher sales volume at launch in French retail.

Biggest Launch Outside of Gaming Giants
The launch of Assassin’s Creed Shadows stands out as the most successful in France outside of the consistently top-selling FC (formerly FIFA) and Call of Duty franchises. Moreover, its retail performance is the strongest outside of Nintendo published titles since the release of Super Mario Bros. Wonder and the largest when excluding Nintendo games specifically since Hogwarts Legacy.
