Monster Hunter Wilds: a new monster, challenges, and more content arrives on April 4

Monster Hunter Wilds players on PlayStation 5 are being lauded for their continued support in the month following the game’s launch. Whether seasoned veterans or newcomers to the hunting grounds, players are invited to delve deeper into the rich gameplay and extensive hunts in High Rank, long after the main storyline concludes. Capcom has unveiled exciting details regarding the first Free Title Update for Monster Hunter Wilds, introducing fresh content and challenges for hunters to experience.

Mizutsune’s Elegant Return to the Wilds

Prepare to face the mesmerizing yet perilous Mizutsune, a leviathan known for its dance-like movements and cunning bubble attacks. Hunters must ready their equipment to confront this returning monster, now featured in Monster Hunter Wilds for the first time.

Accompanying Mizutsune are brand-new, fashionable armor sets for both hunters and their Palico companions.

An enhanced, eight-star Tempered Mizutsune will also emerge as a formidable opponent.

To initiate the Mizutsune hunt, converse with Kanya at the Scarlet Forest Base Camp, provided you have attained Hunter Rank (HR) 21 or higher.

Arch-Tempered Rey Dau Event Quest Emerges

While Tempered monsters currently represent the apex of danger in Monster Hunter Wilds, Free Title Update 1 elevates the challenge. An even more formidable Arch-tempered monster will descend, pushing hunters’ abilities to their limit. Arch-tempered Rey Dau will become available in an Event Quest starting Tuesday, April 30, for hunters at HR 50 and above.

Forge new Rey Dau γ (gamma) and Felyne Rey Dau γ (gamma) armor sets by triumphing over Arch-tempered Rey Dau.

Sharpen your skills and upgrade your gear in anticipation of this challenging encounter.

Zoh Shia Returns for a Rematch

The formidable Zoh Shia makes its return to High Rank in Free Title Update 1. Previously encountered only once during the main narrative, hunters can now engage Zoh Shia repeatedly. After the update on April 4, a new quest will become available for hunters at HR 50 and above.

Initiate the Zoh Shia quest through the Environment Overview. Zoh Shia may also sporadically appear as a quest during the Wyvern’s Wakening in the Ruins of Wyveria.

Materials gathered from Zoh Shia can be crafted into fresh High Rank equipment for hunters and Palicoes.

Introducing the Grand Hub: A New Social Locale

The Grand Hub emerges as a vibrant social hub for hunters to connect, communicate, and engage in unique activities. Historically, the Grand Hub served as a sacred place of worship for the people of Suja. Observe the Diva’s occasional nighttime serenades, offered as hymns to the locale.

Enjoy Barrel Bowling, a new mini-game at the Grand Hub, where hunters can launch barrel bombs at targets. Accumulate points based on your accuracy and earn valuable items and pendants as rewards. Participation requires Barrel Bowling Vouchers, obtainable through various means, including login bonuses.

Felyne chefs within the Grand Hub are ready to prepare delectable meals. Furthermore, hunters can socialize and converse around communal tables.

Access to the Grand Hub is granted at Hunter Rank 16 and above by speaking with Tetsuzan in Suja, Peaks of Accord.

Upon unlocking the Grand Hub, the Squad Information Counter will relocate from the Windward Plains Base Camp, enabling squad management from this new location.

Arena Quests: Compete for Top Completion Times

Arena Quests are reinstated in Monster Hunter Wilds. These challenges involve up to two hunters striving for the quickest completion using predetermined loadouts. Compare your hunt times against global rivals via the Expedition Record Board’s world rankings.

Challenge Quests and Free Challenge Quests Introduced

Engage in limited-time Event Quests, awarding pendants as prizes. Participation guarantees pendants for all, with special pendants granted based on completion time and global ranking. Similar to Arena Quests, Challenge Quests mandate predetermined equipment and are limited to two hunters. Monster Hunter Wilds debuts Free Challenge Quests, eliminating equipment restrictions and allowing up to four players, including Support Hunters.

Customize Alma’s Appearance

The Appearance Menu at base camp will now feature an option to alter Alma’s attire.

Furthermore, completing certain side missions will unlock the ability to change Alma’s eyewear.

A complimentary outfit for Alma will be provided.

Downloadable Content Offerings

Upon the release of Free Title Update 1, a complimentary outfit for Alma and classic Monster Hunter series gestures will be available as free downloadable content via the PlayStation Store.

Cosmetic DLC Pack 1 will also launch alongside Free Title Update 1. This optional paid DLC is accessible to owners of the Cosmetic DLC Pass, included within the Premium Deluxe Edition or available for separate purchase.

Seasonal Festivities: Festival of Accord – Blossomdance

From April 23 to May 7, participate in the Festival of Accord: Blossomdance within the Grand Hub. Seasonal events transform the Grand Hub’s aesthetics and culinary offerings, alongside opportunities to acquire exclusive equipment, gestures, and pop-up camp decorations.

These constitute the primary content additions for the initial Free Title Update. In addition to the outlined features, the update encompasses bug fixes and gameplay adjustments. A subsequent update is slated for May, promising a collaboration with another Capcom title and further enhancements.

Free Title Update 2 is scheduled for a summer release. Stay informed for forthcoming announcements. Until then, enjoy the initial wave of new content, and Happy Hunting!
