A veterinary nurse has disclosed the canine breed that intimidates her the most in her profession, and many are astonished by her response, as it may not be an apparent selection.
When inquiring which dog breed a veterinarian is most wary of handling, one might predict a response such as a Staffordshire Bull Terrier, German Shepherd, or Rottweiler. However, for veterinary nurse Eve, the answer is entirely different.
Eve, who is the owner of three dogs, affirms that she “cherishes all dog breeds,” but the one that instills the most fear in her is the Border Collie. “Don’t try to convince me otherwise,” she stated in a recent TikTok posted to her @eve_the_veterinary_nurse account. “They unsettle me.”
The Intricacies of Border Collies
A Border Collie, a British breed known for its herding prowess and medium size, can reportedly “confront a cow head-on.” According to Eve, they are exceptionally intelligent, capable of outmaneuvering you swiftly. She further explains that they possess a very low threshold for tolerance, which can lead to them “snapping at you” quickly.
When Border Collies Are Well-Behaved
Eve acknowledges that “if you have a well-mannered Border Collie, there’s nothing better,” adding, “It’s the most pleasant dog you’ve ever encountered in your life.” However, if they are not well-behaved, she warns they can become “unpredictable.”
A Personal Encounter
Eve recounted a recent incident where she took a Border Collie outside to urinate, and the dog began “attacking her feet” and “herding her” back inside, making her feel “anxious.” “Attempt to make a Border Collie do something it doesn’t want to do,” she advised. “They are ten steps ahead of you.”

Eve clarifies that she does not “hold a grudge against them” and treats all dogs equally. However, she admits that Border Collies make her feel “somewhat more apprehensive than other breeds.”
