The news that Nicola, 34, and Nikesh, 38, are expecting comes nine months after the pair announced their engagement.
Earlier this year Nicola, who played Nicola Rubinstein on Coronation Street until 2018 and again briefly in 2019, posted a series of images on social media, showing off her new engagement ring.
Letting the pictures speak for themselves, the mum-to-be wore a long-sleeved red dress while her fiancé wore a crisp white shirt and a black bow tie alongside her.
Speaking about the proposal last January, she told Jeremy Vine: “There was candles everywhere and he was in a tuxedo and there was photos everywhere about us and a little nod to my grandmother passed away.
“I was in tears,” she added.
“The moment was unusual because I wasn’t expecting it, I thought, ‘He’ll ask me questions about ring’s sizes or what kind of ring I wanted’ and he hadn’t. He blindfolded me.
“I thought we were having a date night, I thought he was setting up an escape room… he knows I love that sort of thing.”
Nicola said that after saying ‘Yes’ the pair were “very very happy” and that she believed the ring was a “good” choice.
