Usher is the headline act of the 2024 Super Bowl halftime show in Las Vegas – with the NFL announcement coming in a video with Kim Kardashian

Usher has been announced as the headline act of the 2024 Super Bowl halftime show in Las Vegas.

The game – one of the most iconic events in the American sporting calendar – is scheduled for February 11.

The announcement came in a video featuring Kim Kardashian that references his Confessions Part II video, where she calls him up to tell him the news while the R&B star is recording music in the studio.

‘It’s an honor of a lifetime to finally check a Super Bowl performance off my bucket list,’ Usher said in a statement. ‘I can’t wait to bring the world a show unlike anything else they’ve seen from me before.

‘Thank you to the fans and everyone who made this opportunity happen. I’ll see you real soon.’

Usher follows Rihanna, who wowed this year with an incredible performance of her own in Arizona back in February. It was later reported to have been the most-watched halftime show in Super Bowl history.

In the video confirming the news on Sunday morning, Usher appears using the same footage from the Confessions II video, one of his all-time biggest hits from 2009.

He appears at the beginning writing song lyrics when his phone rings. He answers and says he will call whoever it is back.

‘Wait, can you talk? It’s Kim!’ Kardashian says while getting her make-up done in the present day. ‘I’ve finally got the answers to those rumors. It’s not about me, it’s about you. You’re doing the Super Bowl!’

‘You’re playing with me,’ Usher says back.

‘You’re playing the Apple Music halftime show in Vegas,’ she continues. ‘I don’t have time to play. One, I’m busy. Two, you’re doing the Super Bowl.’

‘Are you serious? How do you know,’ Usher responds.

‘I know everything. I’ve seen you in Vegas twice. This one has got to be different,’ she says.

Kardashian once missed an Usher show because her plane was unable to land due to dangerous winds.

When she made it earlier this year, in April, Usher gave her a shout-out and dedicated the song ‘Superstar’ to her.
