Actress Prunella Scales looks worlds away from her character in Fawlty Towers in unearthed pictures.
The actress, who is famous for her role as Sybil Fawlty, was dressed as a naughty schoolgirl in the black and white photos.
Prunella, who was aged 29 in 1962, had her hair in plaits and paired her schoolgirl outfit with a black bowler hat.
The first image showed the Fawlty Towers star gripping onto some school gates, while the actress had a shocked expression on her face in the second.
Before landing her role in the BBC comedy, Prunella started her career in the theatre as an assistant stage manager.
She was often cast in comedic roles, but her big break came in the 1960s when she starred in the sitcom Marriage Lines.
Soon after, she landed the role of Sybil with John Cleese, who played her onscreen husband.
She has also worked with Ronnie Barker before making appearances in The Hound of the Baskervilles, The Wicked Lady and Wolf.
In 1987, Prunella appeared alongside her husband Timothy West in What the Butler Saw.
The actress may have retired now, but in 2007, she reprised her role as Sybil for a Children in Need Fawlty Towers special.
Before her career came to an end due to her health, Prunella and her husband featured in a Channel 4 programme called Great Canal Journeys.
The 91-year-old decided to give up acting after being diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease.
This also means Prunella won’t be appearing in the upcoming reboot of Fawlty Towers.
Actor John Cleese said he decided to kill off his onscreen wife in the remake of the comedy.
He also previously explained he would be shunning the original show’s setting of Torquay for a boutique Caribbean hotel.
Speaking about the reboot, John told The Sun: “Sybil dies and Basil goes to see his daughter because it was all part of a naughty affair that he once had with a guest at the hotel.”
