WARNING: This article contains major spoilers from Virgin River season 5, part 1
Virgin River season five, part one introduced Doc Mullins’ (played by Tim Matheson) former college sweetheart Rose (Susan Hogan) as she journeyed to the Northern California town to reconnect with him.
She came to the town after Doc’s grandson Denny Cutler (Kai Bradbury) arrived in season four and brought plenty of bombshells with him.
Doc was left shocked after believing he never had any children for so long.
At college, Rose fell pregnant with Doc’s child but kept it secret from him with Denny showing up in town after losing his parents.
Rose broke up with Doc by writing a letter and saying she’d met someone else with Virgin River’s medic left in the dark about becoming a father.
Who plays Rose in Virgin River?
In season five, Rose came to town with Denny and Hope (Annette O’Toole) giving the former flames the chance to talk about the past.
Doc had many questions including why Rose had kept news of the baby from him.
But Rose told him he’d never wanted to be a father in the first place, leaving Doc angry and saying he would have taken responsibility for his child.
Nonetheless, Rose said she didn’t tell Doc as she wanted him to follow his dream vocation.
