Emmerdale fans 'work out' Craig's true identity as they fear for beloved character

Emmerdale viewers believe they have “worked out” newcomer Craig Reed’s (played by Ben Addis) true identity and intentions on the ITV soap.

Craig is Lydia Dingle’s (Karen Blick) former lover and old friend who she has not seen for many years.

However, viewers were left concerned for Lydia’s safety following Monday’s instalment of the Yorkshire Dales-based drama.

Craig and Lydia first met when they were living together in a children’s home and they recently reconnected after crossing paths at a jobs fair.

Viewers later discovered he was the father of her late son Toby who was a stillborn. Lydia was just a teenager when she lost Toby.

The childhood sweethearts have been talking about their pasts, but viewers have been left worried about Craig’s true intentions.

Matthew Chapman Tweeted: “Why do I feel like we’re about to have another stalker story on our hands with Craig stalking Lydia?”

Owen remarked: “Craig will hold Lydia hostage tomorrow no doubt, only been a week since our last hostage spree so we are due a new one #Emmerdale.”

@LoveRealityTV4 added: “Craig is gonna turn evil isn’t he #Emmerdale?”

Beckie Miller penned: “Craig is a billy bullsh***r and I don’t know what he’s up to #Emmerdale.”

Ryan shared: “What is Craig’s motive? He’s definitely got a sinister vibe. That smirk he had on his face then said it all.”

Jehan told his followers: “Craig gives me the creeps. something just seems off about him. #Emmerdale.”

Could Craig be Lydia’s stalker as fans have theorised or have they got the wrong end of the stick?

Perhaps the truth about Craig’s intentions with Lydia will be revealed in upcoming scenes on the ITV soap.

Let’s hope Craig doesn’t get between her marriage to Sam Dingle (James Hootton).

Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV and ITVX.
