The father of a young girl killed in a horrific car crash on her way to prom was left cradling his daughter in his arms as she died.
Kiea McCann, 17, and her 16-year-old companion Dlava Mohammed were killed in a car collision on Monday night just outside Clones in County Monaghan, Ireland.
Frankie, Kiea’s father, came to the site shortly after the incident and lovingly cradled his daughter as she died, filled with grief.
The Largy College students were on their way to their Debs party, a formal ball for final year secondary school students known as a “prom” in the UK and US.
Due to the hazardous and wet conditions, their car ran off the road, culminating in a tragic accident.
Teresa stated that the tragedy will be very painful for all of the young people and their friends.
The car’s driver, a buddy in his 60s who granted them a ride, was also involved in the accident and is in critical condition, as is another teenage girl.
According to the Mirror, the girl’s health has now stabilised, while a teenage boy who had non-life threatening injuries is expected to fully recover.
She wrote: “I really don’t know what to say. I’m just so heartbroken over you, my little baby sister.
“I have no words to describe the emotions going through me right now.
“I really don’t know what to do without you. I am just so lost and don’t understand how something like this could just happen to you.
“I just hope you know that we all love you so much.”
