Over the past two decades, actress Samia Longchambon has found herself at the heart of some of Coronation Street’s biggest storylines.
From spending a short stint in prison for the murder of Caz Hammond (played by Rhea Bailey), who was alive and had framed Maria, to cheating on bad boy Gary Windass (Mikey North).
It’s safe to say life for the Weatherfield hairdresser isn’t plain sailing as drama seems to follow wherever she goes.
With her character taking some time away from the cobbles, Express.co.uk has looked into the life of Samia Longchambon away from the ITV soap.
The 40-year-old has two children, Freya who she shares with ex-husband Matt Smith and Yves Joseph who she has with current husband Sylvain Longchambon.
Samia married her first husband at the age of 22 back in 2005 before filing for divorce six years later and reverted back to her maiden name Ghadie.
Shortly after her separation from Matt, it was revealed the soap star was dating her Coronation Street colleague Will Thorp.
However, their romance soon fizzled out when she met professional skater Sylvain on Dancing on Ice as she competed on the eighth series.
Speaking about their romance on Loose Women, the actress confessed: “I believe in angels and I always think my dad sent Sylvain to me.”
Samia’s father, Joseph Bond died of cancer in 2009 and didn’t get the chance to meet her children or husband
The 40-year-old has opened up about her father’s absence in her life and confessed she wished he had met Sylvain.
Speaking to Daily Mail, she said: “Freya knows who Grandad JoJo is and that he’s the brightest star in the sky.
“I was pregnant with her when he died, but I take comfort knowing I got the chance to tell him I was expecting.
“I just wish he could’ve met Sylvain, as my dad could speak fluent French.”
Sadly it’s believed Samia is no longer close with her mother Patsy as a feud saw her banned from attending the star’s wedding in 2016.
In terms of her career, the 40-year-old first made her soap debut at the age of eight when she was an extra in Coronation Street, 10 years before officially joining the cast.
However, her first credited role was in 1994 when she starred in the show The Big Crunch as a character called Rosie.
She’s also appeared in Children’s Ward, Adams Family Tree, Heartbeat and The Cops.
More recently the star has taken a break from the cobbles to appear in another ITV show as she took to the kitchen in Cooking with the Stars.
Speaking about appearing on the show, she said: “I’ve wanted to do this show for a long time because I love cooking. I’m a family cook.”
Coronation Street continues Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays on ITV from 8pm.
