Coronation Street star opens up on 'hard to film scenes' ahead of exit

Coronation Street’s Faye Windass (played by Ellie Leech) made Weatherfield her home when she was adopted by Anna Windass (Debbie Rush).

Since her time on the cobbles, Faye has faced some heartbreaking storylines such as a teenage pregnancy and facing time in prison for a hit and run.

Now, the youngster has been struggling to decide on whether to leave her home with ex-boyfriend Jackson Hodge (Joseph William Evans) and daughter Miley Hodge (Frankie-Jae Simmonds) or stay with her old life with her fiance Craig Tinker (Colson Smith) after he threatened to blackmail her on Friday night’s episode.

Ellie Leech recently opened up to Express.co.uk and other press about filming her final scenes and admitted they were “hard to film”.

Touching on how close she and co-star Colson Smith were and filming her last scene on the cobbles, Ellie said: “Colson is my best mate.

“We have a laugh all the time no matter what scene it is, whether we are crying heartbroken, or having fun, we are always having a laugh.

“We have worked together for so many years now and yeah he can be horrible but as soon as it’s cut it’s back to conversation again.

“I think it is also good because we are so close as friends, that final scene was hard to film but we can always be normal afterwards.”

On Friday night’s episode, Craig lost his temper with Faye after she had blown off his surprise party to meet with Jackson.

Finding him sitting on a bench outside the Rovers, he expressed: “Why go behind my back? You could have just told me you had feelings for him.

“Didn’t I deserve that? You were with Jackson, I can’t believe I am hearing this! How could you do this to me? After all, I did to protect you!”

Confused, Faye asked what he was talking about before he furiously slammed: “You know very well. I could have gone to prison.

“I still took that chance all to keep you safe because I love you that much, and you go and snog your ex at the first chance you get. How stupid am I?

“You could have got 10 years minimum. I feel like going down to the station right now and telling them everything.

“And yeah, I’d go down as well but what does it matter? Because if you go off with him my life is already over.”

Panicking and not wanting to go back to prison, Faye exclaimed: “I’m not going away with him! I turned him down, I am staying here with you.”

Will Craig turn to the police if he finds out she was considering leaving?

Coronation Street airs Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8pm on ITV.
