Body of girl, 15, found in woods after she was accused of luring British boy to his death

The body of a teenage girl implicated in the death of a British boy in Thailand has been found, local police have announced. Suraphltchaya Khamsa, a 15-year-old girl who had become associated with 44-year-old convict and drug dealer Chaiwat Boongarin, who has been charged with the murder of 16-year-old Ben Taota, has been missing since the two teenagers were last seen riding off on a motorbike last Saturday.

Mr Taoto’s body was found on Sunday, a day after he was reported missing, but Ms Khamsa’s family had been unaware of the location of their teenager or whether she was alive.

Police announced they had found the body of Ms Khamsa on Saturday morning buried in a woodland just off the main north-south highway near Lampang.

They said the teenager had been “murdered and buried in the woods”. They discovered the body of the killer Boongarin led officers to her makeshift grave.

They said: “The search team have found her body. The killer Wat led officers to her grave.

“She had been murdered and buried in woods by the side of the main highway.”

After Mr Taoto’s body was found last Sunday, roughly three miles from his home, police launched a desperate search for Ms Khamsa.

Her family believed throughout the week that she was still alive and being held against her will.

It had been speculated that Ms Khamsa, who had become involved with the 44-year-old drug dealer, had helped lure Mr Taoto to his death.

Boongarin confessed to the murder of the dual-national British teenage boy but initially claimed to know nothing of the young woman’s whereabouts.

Ben’s parents, Steven and Ooy said they were devastated over his death. They said: “We are heartbroken. Words cannot describe our pain.

“Ben was lured to meet his killer in some kind of honey trap set by this young girl.”

Footage emerged of Mr Taota’s father Steven Graham confronting his son’s killer having flown over from the UK after hearing about his son’s murder.

The father could be seen shouting at the convict, who was sitting behind a blacked-out window.
