Sunday Brunch's Tom Kerridge 'absolutely' against doing Strictly after Simon Rimmer stint

Tom Kerridge, 49, and Simon Rimmer, 59, are frequently seen on screen together on Channel 4’s Sunday Brunch.

However, Strictly Come Dancing is one stage that the chefs will never have in common, as Tom insisted it is “off the cards” for him.

In an exclusive interview with Express.co.uk, Tom revealed that Simon’s Strictly stint hasn’t tempted him to take to the dance floor for the BBC show.

When quizzed on if Strictly could be in his future, the Great British Menu judge exclaimed: “Absolutely not!

“No, it’s not my thing. I’m not a dancer, I’m not keen on it.”

He added: “It’s something that I couldn’t win, and something that I wouldn’t want to take part in.

“So Strictly is not for me, thank you, it’s off the cards!”

Simon took part in Strictly in 2017 alongside professional dancer Karen Hauer.

Although the pair entertained viewers with their routines, the Sunday Brunch host was voted out of the show in week six after performing an American Smooth.

Simon has since shared how tough Strictly was for him, due to juggling the BBC show with his busy schedule.

He said while discussing his Sunday Brunch co-star Tim Lovejoy: “When I was doing Strictly, I felt sorry for Tim because obviously, you know, you do the live show and then you do the Sunday results show.

“So if you’re in the dance-off, which I was quite often, I was getting back to the hotel at 1.30 in the morning.

“Then, I’d be up at 5.30 to do Sunday Brunch.

“And so, by the time it got to 11.30/12, I was fit for nothing, so Tim would be there going, ‘It’s your link there, mate’.

“You know, I was so tired and you’re on the brink of hallucinating,” he added on Kate Thornton’s White Wine Question Time podcast.

Despite the exhaustion, Simon insisted that on the whole, he “loved the whole Strictly experience”.

The TV chef went on to urge everyone who signs up to the show to fully embrace it; including the glitter, spray tans, and bodysuits.

Simon competed against stars such as Gemma Atkinson, Debbie McGee, Davood Ghadam, and Aston Merrygold during his series.

Joe McFadden and Katya Jones went on to lift the Glitterball trophy that year.

Tom Kerridge will be hosting various locations across Pub in the Park. The ultimate food and music festival will be touring ten UK locations this Summer. Visit www.pubintheparkuk.com for tickets and further information.
