Some Samsung TVs just got a blockbuster upgrade – is yours on the list?

If you’ve recently splashed out on a new TV from Samsung there’s good news. The Korean technology giant has just announced that it’s bringing the new Luna gaming platform from Amazon to its latest tellies courtesy of an update to the Gaming Hub app. This blockbuster change means those with 2023 television in their living rooms will now be able to access top titles without needing to splash out on an expensive console.

Luna launched in the UK last month and offers a vast selection of games that can all be streamed to the biggest screen in the home.

Titles are also rotated so there should always be something new to play – in April games include akuza Kiwami 2, Horizon Chase Turbo, The Jackbox Games Party Pack 3 and The Adventure Pals.

Until now, Luna has been available on devices such as smartphones, laptops and Fire TV Sticks but now Samsung owners will be able to give it a go without needing any extra equipment.

Those wanting to give it a go can also play for free thanks to a trial period, after that ends Luna then costs £8.99 per month.

It’s worth noting that Samsung’s Gaming Hub app, which also includes access to other services from firms such as Microsoft, is available on older TVs  as well and it’s unclear if these screens will also get access to Luna in the future as well.

Right now, Samsung simply says it’s launching this Amazon platform on 2023 models only.

Speaking about the update Dan Hastings, Director TV/AV at Samsung Electronics, said: ‘We’re very excited for Amazon Luna to be joining the Samsung Gaming Hub, offering TV viewers and players more choice than ever before to play both the games they already love and discover new ones.

“Samsung Gaming Hub is a one-stop shop for all gamers needs and with Amazon Luna, we’re delighted to offer gamers nearly one thousand games to play instantaneously on Samsung Smart TVs.”

If that’s got you pondering an upgrade there is another reason to switch your TV to something new.

Samsung is currently offering up to £700 off its latest 2023 tellies and some even come with a Galaxy S23 for just £100 more. That means you’ll save a whopping £799 off the price of this flagship phone.
