Joan Collins 'slaps' Gemma Collins after she tells Dynasty star 'move over b***h'

Dame Joan Collins, 89, and Gemma Collins, 42, were more than happy to showcase their acting skills as Joe Lycett encouraged the pair to act out a scene, which would not have been out of place on Dynasty. The hilarious moment saw Joan mimic a slap as she pretended to lash out at the Only Way Is Essex reality star.

Appearing on Late Night Lycett, dame Joan channelled her character Alexis Colby in a hilarious skit with Gemma.

Joe told the pair: “I’ve got a script here for you. Here, if you read that and then Dame Joan Collins will slap you.”

Gemma asked: “Shall I do it proper Essex?” with Joe begging: “Yes please.”

Reading from the script, the reality star said: “Step aside, Dame Joan! There’s a new Collins in town.”

However, Joan snapped back: “I’m the original O.G,” which infuriated Gemma.

She first appeared in the second season of the hit US series, however it was about to be axed before she joined.

Dame Joan previously divulged: “When I joined it was about to be cancelled. Within six weeks we were number one in the ratings!”

After it was reported Sophia Loren turned down the role of Alexis, Dame Joan gave her a nod when accepting an award for her work.

Dynasty was enormous,” she explained. “When I went into it, it had been on for 12 or 16 weeks in the first season. I got on with some of the cast and some of the cast really didn’t like me.”

She also addressed a rumoured feud with Linda Evans, who starred as Krystle Carrington, and a scene in which they slapped one another.

“One of the first scenes I had with Linda, when I yelled at her, said something like, ‘You little secretary!’” Dame Joan explained.

“At the end of it, Linda said ‘My god, did you really mean it?’ I said, ‘No darling – it’s acting’. And she said, ‘But it felt so real!”

She added Linda “found it difficult” to hate her but the pair “had our ups and downs”.

Late Night Lycett airs Friday on Channel 4 at 10pm.
