Mother-of-three loses impressive 8 stone after being the 'biggest friend' her whole life

Mother-of-three Kat realised she had lost her passion for life and decided that she had to drastically change her lifestyle and eating habits in order to go back to being her true self with her friends and family. She explained that for her, “balancing healthy eating routine with motherhood and work just felt impossible”, she struggled with long shifts and her back, legs and feet gave her “so much pain” due to her weight.

She explained: “The weight soon piled on, and small tasks such as walking up the stairs or taking my baby out in the buggy made me horribly breathless. I was constantly exhausted and couldn’t seem to find a way out.”

Sadly, Kat lost her dad that same year, which alongside everything else “really impacted” her relationship with food.

“Comfort eating felt like the only way to distract myself from the sadness, but no matter how much I ate, I was never left feeling satisfied.

“I couldn’t sleep, my legs hurt and I was really struggling, both mentally and physically,” she admitted.

How did Kat lose weight?

Kat decided enough was enough and knew it was time to break away from her destructive eating habits.

“I had always been bigger than my friends, even at school, and despite attempting several diets, they never lasted longer than two weeks.”

She started looking for “a programme I could really commit to”, and that’s when a friend recommended her The 1:1 Diet by Cambridge Weight Plan.

How does The 1:1 Diet by Cambridge Weight Plan work?

The 1:1 Diet by Cambridge Weight Plan, created by biochemist Dr Alan Howard in the 1960s, offers “support, flexible weight loss plans and products to help people achieve their goals”.

The diet plan is based on a meal replacement programme (MRP) which uses formula soups, shakes, bars and other foods to replace conventional foods.

The 1:1 Diet replacement meals “are nutritionally balanced, providing all protein, essential fat, vitamins and minerals needed,” the company explained.

The best part for Kat was “the one-to-one support and having someone I could turn to at any time – it’s just what I needed to keep myself on track”.

The “incredible support” from her consultant is what kept her going, “being able to talk to someone without judgement”.

Her consultant also helped Kat “get to the bottom of my insecurities, and her realistic approach gave me the confidence I needed to keep going”.

Kat’s life after losing eight stone

Kat finally ditched the black leggings and the baggy tops and now enjoys going shopping, opting for vibrant colours and fitted clothes instead.

She explained: “I feel a million times better – now, I just want to say ‘yes’ to every opportunity life throws at me!

“I love being able to get outside, walk the dogs, go out with friends and also embrace being in my own company.

“I have realised I don’t need to fall back on food when I need to escape – instead, I’ll treat myself to a pamper, because I know I’m worth it.”

The mother-of-three feels better than ever before, and “my heart feels full again,” the slimmer said.

“I’d highly recommend anyone in a similar position to give it a go – you have nothing to lose (except the unwanted pounds, of course!) and so much to gain,” Kat added.

Prices vary from consultant to consultant, but on average, dieters only pay around £2.78 for a meal and £58.46 based on three meals a day while following The 1:1 Diet by Cambridge Weight Plan.
