Linda Nolan’s sisters ‘preparing for the worst' amid incurable cancer battle

Linda Nolan, who turned 64 last month, has been diagnosed with cancer three times, most recently receiving a liver cancer diagnosis in the midst of the pandemic. The former singer grew to fame as part of the hit 1980s band The Nolans alongside her sisters, the second youngest of which, Bernie, tragically died from cancer in 2013.

On Friday, Linda was spotted leaving a Lancashire hospital with her older sister Maureen, 68, pushing her wheelchair.

The singer seemed unsteady on her feet as Maureen had to help her from the wheelchair and into the car as rain trickled down.

Linda was dressed in a cosy waterproof jacket with a fluffy trimmed hood which she held above her head to ward off the rain.

Behind the red wheelchair, Maureen wrapped a plaid–patterned scarf around her head for the trip to the car.

A source close to the family told The Mirror that Linda has “been prone to falls” but assured that it’s just a side-effect of the chemotherapy treatment she is currently receiving.

The source noted Linda “had a series of falls a couple of weeks ago” and expressed that “the family are extremely worried” about her.

They added that her family is “rallying around to support and care for her” as the singer no longer feels safe being alone in her own home.

In a tragic declaration, they concluded: “Everyone’s hoping for the best, but preparing for the worst.”

Last year, Linda briefly halted her chemotherapy treatments due to its side effects, as she told The Mirror: “It was affecting my quality of life.”

Specifically, she noted that the treatment affected her legs and admitted: “I had a fall while I was in town.”

Linda recently opened up about her struggles with lymphedema, a build-up of lymph fluid in the body which is a common side effect of cancer treatment.

She has been plagued by the condition for almost two decades as it started after she had a mastectomy in 2006.

Linda was first diagnosed with breast cancer, stage three, in 2005 but got an all-clear reading the very next year.

Her sister Anne, 72, has also been diagnosed with breast cancer twice in her life and their sister, Bernie, tragically died from the illness in 2013 at the age of 52.

Linda was in remission for more than a decade before she was diagnosed with hip cancer in 2017.

In 2020, Linda received the devastating news that the cancer had spread to her liver.

However, the singer herself is adamant about her battle, describing it on Twitter as: “Living with cancer, not dying from it” and despite her health woes, Linda was determined to celebrate her 64th birthday in style.

Last month the singer made a surprise appearance on TikTok as she was seen dancing to hits by The Nolans in a Blackpool nightclub in the early hours of the morning.
