Want to watch Succession? The HBO drama is exclusive to Sky Atlantic in the UK (Image: SKY ATLANTIC • HBO)

Want to watch Succession? The fourth and final season of the hit drama series, which follows fictional media mogul family The Roys, will be shown exclusively on Sky Atlantic in the UK. The channel is available to watch with a subscription to Sky Glass, Sky Stream, or Sky Q, with prices starting from £14 per month.

You can also watch Succession S04 with a NOW membership (formerly NOW TV), but those who pay extra to watch Sky TV channels on Virgin TV will find the show (and the entirety of Sky Atlantic) missing from their library.

For a limited time, Sky will waive the cost of its TV channels, on-demand boxsets, and a Netflix subscription for 3 months when you sign-up for its Sky Glass TV. This sleek 4K TV has everything you need for a good binge-watch built-in, including a QLED panel, hands-free voice controls (so you never need to worry about losing the remote), a Dolby Atmos-capable soundbar, and the ability to stream 150 TV channels in HD quality over Wi-Fi – no need for a satellite dish drilled into the wall outside of your home.

It’s easily one of the best Sky deals around at the moment, dropping your monthly bills down to just £14 for a 43-inch Glass TV for the first few months.

Sky Glass arrives with dedicated apps for Disney+, ITVX, Prime Video, BBC iPlayer, Apple TV+, Netflix, as well as 500 on-demand boxsets from HBO, Sky Originals, and Peacock. For more information on this all-in-one QLED TV, read our in-depth Sky Glass review.

Succession is a satirical black comedy-drama created by Jesse Armstrong, one of the brains behind cult comedy series Peep Show and Fresh Meat. The HBO series, which has aired 29 episodes during its run, follows the trials and tribulations of global media mogul family The Roys.

The show kickstarts with patriarch Logan Roy (Brian Cox) falling gravely ill, which brings succession plans to the fore and turns his four children – Kendall (Jeremy Strong), Siobhan (Sarah Snook), Roman (Kieran Culkin), and Connor (Alan Ruck) – against one another in a vicious (and oftentimes hilarious) battle for total control of his empire of right-wing news channels, Hollywood studios, theme parks, and more.

Season 4 will bring the story to its conclusion. In an interview with The New Yorker, Jesse Armstrong – who has also penned a number of pivotal episodes for the show – said: “You know, there’s a promise in the title of Succession. I’ve never thought this could go on forever. The end has always been kind of present in my mind. From Season 2, I’ve been trying to think: Is it the next one, or the one after that, or is it the one after that?”

The final 10-episode run follows the sale of media conglomerate Waystar Royco to tech visionary and entrepreneur Lukas Matsson (Alexander Skarsgård). This seismic sale provokes existential angst and familial division among the Roys as they anticipate what their lives will look like once the deal is complete. A power struggle ensues as the family weighs up a future where their cultural and political weight is severely curtailed. The fallout of the betrayal at the end of season 3 continues to ripple too.

The fourth season of Succession will begin on March 27, with new episodes broadcast weekly until the finale on May 29, 2023.

What time does Succession air in the UK?

Sky Atlantic will broadcast the latest episodes of Succession at the same as they air on HBO in the United States. For those who desperately want to avoid spoilers on social media (or from colleagues at the water cooler) that means a late night. New episodes will air on Sky Atlantic (Channel 108) at 2am.

As soon as the episode finishes – roughly 3am BST – it will be available to watch on-demand on your Sky Q, Sky Stream, or Sky Glass. Sky Go customers will be able to stream or download new episodes of Succession from their iPhone, iPad, Android phone or tablet.

Both the live broadcast (and any Series Link recordings made of the broadcast on Sky Q) and on-demand will be High Definition (HD) quality. Unlike some HBO shows, including The Last Of Us, the on-demand episodes of Succession won’t be available in 4K Ultra HD.

How many episodes in Succession season 4?

In total, there will be 10 episodes in the fourth season of Succession. Since this is the final series of the hit US comedy-drama, the total number of episodes in its run will be 39.

Unlike Netflix and Prime Video, Sky Atlantic and HBO often release their prestige shows weekly. This has been the case with every previous season of Succession, as well as recent hits, including House of the Dragon, Game of Thrones, and The Last Of Us.

As such, Succession season 4 will be broadcast over a period of 10-weeks.

If you want to get a sense of what’s in store during the next 10-episodes of Succession, watch the latest trailer for the final season, below.

The official synopsis from HBO reads: “The sale of media conglomerate Waystar Royco to tech visionary Lukas Matsson moves ever closer. The prospect of this seismic sale provokes existential angst and familial division among the Roys as they anticipate what their lives will look like once the deal is complete. A power struggle ensues as the family weighs up a future where their cultural and political weight is severely curtailed.”

Can you watch Succession for free?

Unfortunately, Succession is not available for free.

Sky has uploaded the complete first episodes of some of its biggest new shows, including House Of The Dragon and The Last Of Us to YouTube to allow viewers a free taster before they need to sign-up to its contract to continue watching on Sky Atlantic.

Sky Stream, Sky Glass, and Sky Q aren’t available with a free trial, so this was a nice way to allow newcomers the chance to watch the first episode of its latest prestige shows.

Sadly, it seems that Sky TV won’t follow the same technique to drum up interest in the final series of Succession. However, we will update this article if that changes. In the meantime, it is possible to enjoy 3-months of Sky TV channels – including Sky Atlantic, the exclusive home of Successionfor free when you order a new Sky Glass TV.

How to watch Succession season 4

Succession is exclusive to Sky TV in the UK.

Episodes are broadcast on Sky Atlantic, which remains exclusive to Sky Glass, Sky Stream and Sky Q subscription. NOW memberships (formerly NOW TV) can also stream and watch on-demand shows broadcast on the channel.

However, Virgin TV customers who pay extra for access to Sky TV content – including Sky Cinema and Sky Sports – will not be able to watch Sky Atlantic live or on-demand. So, if you’re a Virgin TV 360 customer who loves Succession, it might be worth buying a NOW membership for the next month or two. Or, if you’re at the end of your TV contract, maybe consider the best Sky deals around today?

For a limited time, Sky will waive the cost of its TV channels, on-demand boxsets, and a Netflix subscription for 3 months when you sign-up for its Sky Glass TV.

This sleek 4K TV has everything you need for a good binge-watch built-in, including a QLED panel, hands-free voice controls (so you never need to worry about losing the remote control), a Dolby Atmos-capable soundbar, and the ability to stream 150 Sky TV channels in HD quality over Wi-Fi – no need for a satellite dish drilled into the wall outside of your home.

The latest deal drops the cost down to just £14 for a 43-inch Glass TV in the first few months. After that, the standard cost of the Ultimate TV bundle, which contains over 150 channels in HD as standard, Netflix subscription to watch anywhere, on-demand shows from HBO, Sky Originals, and US streamer Peacock, will be applied to your monthly bills for the remaining duration of your contract. Glass TVs can be purchased outright, or spread interest-free for a period of up to 48-months.

If you pay for Sky Go, you’ll be able to download the latest episode to the smartphone or tablet app and watch new episodes of Succession on your phone or tablet for the journey to work.

Sky customers can binge-watch seasons 1-3 of Succession now to refresh their memory of the events that have taken place so far in the award-winning show.
