Boris Becker and his girlfriend enjoy three-course meal at expensive restaurant

In a world away from the prison meals that Boris Becker would have eaten in a UK jail, the disgraced tennis star was able to enjoy a night of luxury with his girlfriend at an expensive Italian restaurant in Germany.

Becker got a taste of what he had missed during his time at a prison in Oxfordshire, and enjoyed a three-course meal with Lilian de Carvalho Monteiro, 32, at the Nannina restaurant in Stuttgart, Germany, on Friday night.

Becker, 55, was tempted by a choice of homemade fettuccine with aged Parmesan and black truffle as well as ravioli stuffed with burrata – a far cry from the plain dishes he would have eaten at HMP Huntercombe, a category C prison in Oxfordshire.

He treated Lilian to a date night at the Italian restaurant, which the Wimbledon champion frequents so regularly that he has a table reserved there every night, reports Bild.

The couple arrived at the luxurious restaurant at around 8.30pm and ordered a starter, main course and dessert from the menu, where main courses can cost between 39 (£34) and 59 euros (£52).

The couple also shared a bottle of white wine before enjoying espressos before Lillian paid for the meal with her credit card. It is not known how much the bill was, but a meal for two at the exclusive restaurant can cost around 300 euros (£265).

At one point during the meal, Lilian, who was wearing a gold Rolex watch on her arm, appeared distracted and was seen scrolling on her phone while sat at the table.

Becker, wearing a bright red jumper over a white shirt alongside an expensive watch, sat with his back to the other customers in the restaurant. The customers said the couple were speaking in English.

Lilian stuck by Becker after he was jailed for two years and a half years for hiding £2.5 million in assets to avoid paying his debts in April 2022.

The first part of his sentence was served at HMP Wandsworth which he described as a ‘shithole’ and where he was left fearing his life. He was then transferred to Huntercombe Prison in Nuffield, Oxfordshire, where he was surrounded by ‘murderers, drug dealers and people smugglers’.

But the disgraced tennis star was released in December last year after only eight months – and he’s now trying in vain to get his old luxurious life back.

Alongside his visits to the luxurious restaurant in Stuttgart, Becker has appeared on the red carpet at a film festival in Berlin where he enjoyed rapturous applause and fielded questions about a new documentary film on his life – a project that’s sure to make him some extra money.

In the ‘Boom! Boom! The World vs. Boris Becker’ documentary, Becker opened up on his time in jail, his affair with a Russian model that ruined his marriage and his whirlwind rise into a global tennis star as a teenager.

The trailer for the documentary dropped today and features legend of tennis such as John McEnroe, Bjorn Borg and Novak Djokovic – who has worked with Becker as a coach – reflecting on his legacy.

But it’s Becker in his own words that provides by far the most insight, especially when reflecting on his more controversial moments of his life.

On his time in prison, Becker gets tearful and chokes up as he admits: ‘I’ve hit my bottom. But that’s not the end yet, there is going to be another chapter.’

He also opens up about discovering about his lovechild after a fling with Russian model Angela Ermakova in 1999.

The affair cost him his marriage with then-wife, Barbara.

Becker has said previously that he had put the one-night stand with Ermakova out of his mind, until she later made contact with him to say she was eight months pregnant.

Picking up the story in the documentary, he explains: ‘She came in, she had a big coat on. She took the coat off and she was heavily pregnant. You just can’t believe it. The wake-up call came very late.’
