But asked about the development, President Biden said: “He’s clearly committed war crimes. I think it’s justified. It makes a very strong point.”
On Friday night, Ukraine was attacked by 16 Russian drones, 11 of which were down. Kyiv was among the targets.
Serhiy Popko, head of the capital’s administration, said air defences brought down all drones heading for Kyiv, while regional governor Maksym Kozytskyi said three of six were shot down.The other three hit a district bordering ally Poland.
According to the Ukrainian Air Force, the attacks were carried out from the eastern coast of the Sea of Azov and Russia’s Bryansk province, which borders north-east Ukraine.
Yesterday morning, President Volodymyr Zelensky’s forces said Russia had also launched a number of air strikes which damaged a nursery and houses.
