Craig Revel Horwood believes he would still be married with kids if wife hadn't cheated

Craig Revel Horwood, 58, lifted the lid on the brutal way the marriage to his ex-wife Jane ended after she cheated. The Strictly Come Dancing star admitted he had previously envisioned a life where he had his own family with children.

In a new interview, he recounted falling in love with his friend and flatmate Jane, who he was later married to for two years from 1990 until 1992.

However, the couple’s romance came to an end after Jane had an affair with a mutual friend.

Looking back on his experience, Craig confessed: “I wish I’d had kids.

“The reason I got married the first time was for that specific reason, but that didn’t work out, because she fell in love with someone else and so that’s why that ended.

“But that would have been my opportunity and her opportunity and I think that’s why we made a love bond together in that way – that’s basically what we wanted, because we felt our time was running out.

“She was 30, I was 25 and we felt we’d better get on with it,” he concluded during a conversation with Kaye Adams on her How to Be 60 podcast.

Craig is currently engaged to his partner Jonathan Myring, who he met on Tinder.

The TV star announced the big news in April 2020, opening up about his partner’s “naked proposal” in the bath.

Jonathan said: “In the end, I drew a salt bath, opened a bottle of champagne and we got in the bath together and I did it in there.”

Craig added: “It was very romantic. A naked proposal, on his knees in the bath. It was hilarious!”

The star cheekily admitted he originally turned down the proposal.

He added: “I said, ‘Absolutely not!’ [laughs]. And then I said, ‘Oh, alright then, I’ve changed my mind’.

“I thought it was really sweet, actually, because Jonathan just said, ‘I want to spend the rest of my life with you’.

“It was absolutely perfect. I would much rather be in a bubble bath with champagne than climbing up a mountain to a waterfall anyway.”

Jonathan revealed he bought the couple matching engagement rings, which he had specially made to honour Craig’s home country.

He divulged: “They’re wooden with gold bands through the middle. The wood is from the eucalyptus trees that grow around Ballarat, where Craig is from in Australia.”
