Tesco, Aldi, Asda, Waitrose & more recall products including chocolate due to health risks

Several supermarkets are recalling a variety of products from shelves due to undeclared ingredients which could pose as a health risk to certain people who consume them. Sainsbury’s currently has no active product recalls, but below are details for new or ongoing product recalls from Asda, Tesco, Aldi, Waitrose, Marks and Spencer and Quorn.

Asda 

Asda is is recalling Tiger Tiger Taste Japan Mirin 150ml. All date codes are affected, and the barcode is 502444 8552476.

Asda said: “Some bottles labelled of Mirin have been incorrectly packed and contain Teriyaki Sauce Affected product contains soy – which is not declared on the label.”

Tesco 

Tesco still has an active recall for Creamfields grated cheddar 500g “this is because it may contain small pieces of clear, soft plastic which could make the product unsafe to eat”. The product that’s affected has a best before date is March 23.

Customers who have purchased this product should not eat it, and return it to store for a full refund – no receipt is required.

Aldi 

A new recall for Aldi is Plant Menu Tofu, which is being recalled “from a limited number of stores in the Midlands due to an isolated temperature control issue”. The supermarket said: “Customers who purchased this product from affected stores are asked to return it, where a full refund will be given”.

Organic Super Firm Tofu 200g with use by dates of April 13 and 14, 2023 purchased from stores in the Midlands. See here for full list of locations where affected tofu might have been purchased.

Aldi has an ongoing food recall for various Harvest Morn High Protein Bars because they contain milk and/or peanuts and/or soya which may not be emphasised in bold type on the label.

“Anyone who has bought this product and suffers from an allergy or intolerance to the ingredients listed, should return it to any Aldi store for a full refund. We apologise for any inconvenience caused,” Aldi said.

  • Harvest Morn Multipack High Protein Peanut Butter, 180g – all batch codes. Allergens: Milk, Soya
  • Harvest Morn Multipack High Protein Cookie Dough, 180g – all batch codes. Allergens: Milk, Peanuts, Soya

Pack size is 180g with a use by date of September 9, 2023, and a barcode number of 29087570.

Marks and Spencer is asking customers to return the product to store for a refund.

Quorn 

Quorn is recalling its Frozen Swedish Style Balls as it may contain pieces of hard white plastic that could cause a potential choking hazard.

Pack size is 300g with a use by date of September 20, 2024.

Quorn’s Frozen Swedish Style Balls are sold at Waitrose, Tesco, Asda, and customers are asked to return them to the store where they purchased them for a full refund.

My Sweet Chickpea products 

Both Asda and Aldi are recalling My Sweet Chickpea products.

The Food Standards Agency explained: “Packs contain milk which is not mentioned on the label. This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents. If you have purchased one of these My Sweet Chickpea products recently, please return it to the store.”

My Sweet Chickpea Cappuccino & Dark Chocolate 100g has the following date codes: March 26, May 22, July 27, November 30 this year.
