Keira Knightley showcases slender legs after declaring herself a 'thin glutton'

Keira Knightley showcased her famously svelte physique in a slinky black ensemble when she hit the town in New York this week.

The 37-year-old slipped into a fluttery pair of see-through trousers that put her vertiginous legs on display as she pounded the pavement.

She modeled a fashionably asymmetrical jacket with one side cut off at mid-thigh and the other side dangling down to ankle level.

Accentuating her English rose features with makeup, the Pirates Of The Caribbean star cinched her outfit in around her enviably trim waistline with a belt.

Her latest outing comes after she declared herself a ‘thin glutton’ given to ‘stuffing myself in the most disgusting, luxurious and outrageous ways.’

In an essay for Noble Rot magazine, she confessed that her sybaritic eating habits have brought her to the point of hiring truffle dealers and caviar dealers.

Keira described herself as ‘the kind of glutton that has no business being a glutton,’ writing that people who eat like she does ‘should look like Hogarth etchings.’ 

William Hogarth was an 18th century English artist whose satirical works sent up the decadence of such environments as brothels.

His celebrated etching Gin Lane shows a bloated, grinning woman sprawled drunk on a stairway, blithely letting her child fall headfirst out of her arms. 

‘But this glutton,’ Keira wrote in reference to herself, ‘has managed to make a living off her face and fit in to very small couture clothing.’

She noted: ‘Time will catch up. The Hogarth bloat and red nose will get me at some point and when it does, I will know that I deserve every broken vein and gouty toe.’ 

Keira has been married for nearly a decade to the musician James Righton, with whom she shares her daughters Edie, seven, and Delilah, three.

In her new essay she revealed she and James found themselves on the brink of divorce after she adopted a puppy Delilah was ‘mortally afraid of.’

The marriage was saved when the puppy was rehomed and the couple headed off to Paris without the children – resulting in the best meal of Keira’s life.

At the moment Keira is doing the publicity rounds for the upcoming movie Boston Strangler, about the real-life 1960s serial killer of the same nickname.

Keira plays the local reporter Loretta McLaughlin, who was the first journalist to link the string of murders that ultimately led back to the Boston Stranger.

With a cast that includes The Many Saints Of Newark dreamboat Alessandro Nivola as a detective, the new film bows on Hulu this Friday.
