Coco Gauff loses in the quarterfinal at Indian Wells to Aryna Sabalenka 6-4, 6-0… and now gets set for her TV debut in the series All American Homecoming
Aryna Sabalenka put on a serving masterclass to crush American Coco Gauff 6-4 6-0 on Wednesday and reach the semi-finals at Indian Wells.
The Australian Open champion never faced a break point and used her hard and accurate serve to dispatch Gauff.
Sabalenka appears to have put her past struggles with double faults firmly behind her, not committing a single one against Gauff, while pounding down five aces and winning 87% of her first serves.
Gauff quickly fell 2-0 down in the first set and was unable to match the Belarusian’s level despite playing well.
Second seed Sabalenka kept her foot on the gas to dominate the second set despite the California crowd’s attempts to urge on the sixth-seeded Gauff.

Gauff is however set to make her TV debut in the hit CW series All American homecoming
‘I knew you guys wanted to send me home,’ a smiling Sabalenka told the crowd in an on-court interview.
‘Thank you everyone for coming and supporting us, mostly her, but us. The atmosphere was unbelievable. I don’t want to leave. I want to stay here as long as I can.’
The hard-hitting Sabalenka will next face either seventh-seeded Greek Maria Sakkari or 15th-seeded Czech Petra Kvitova.
Despite her defeat in today’s match Gauff still has something to be proud of as she is set to make her acting debut in a major TV series, in the CW Series ‘All American Homecoming.’
‘All American Homecoming’ is a spinoff of the CW original series All American a sports drama that follows the lives of high school athletes in Beverly Hills as they navigate issues like racism and class struggles, along with the usual classroom drama and is inspired by the real life story of former NFL linebacker Spencer Paysinger.
Homecoming follows one student’s journey at Bringston University, a fictional Historical Black College/University in Atlanta—which also happens to be Gauff’s real-life hometown—as she pursues her dream of becoming a professional tennis player.
‘I’m for sure living my dream. I guess the on-court part is glamorous in a way,’ Gauff said of the role after her third-round win.
‘Off-court, I always tell people my life is boring. That’s part of the reason why I’ve never done any, I guess, filming or any of that, like behind-the-scenes stuff. I literally just don’t leave my room sometimes.
‘And the tennis part, I guess online and that persona, yeah, I’m living the dream… I enjoy this kind of balance of being extroverted in certain situations and introverted in certain situations.
‘There is no other life that I would want other than mine right now.’
