Helen Mirren turned Tuesday’s Los Angeles premiere of Shazam! Fury Of The Gods into a family affair by bringing her young grandson Basil as her plus one.
The actress, 77, held hands with the little boy as they made their way down the red carpet with the superhero film’s leading man Zachary Levi and the rest of the cast.
Mirren looked sensational while modeling a plunging black lace dress with long sleeves and a ruffled skirt for photographers.
Her long, white hair – which she grew out during coronavirus lockdown – flowed in curls over one shoulder and a black headband kept all her strands in place.
Mirren tucked her belongings away in a shiny hardshell clutch and threw on large jeweled earrings for a touch of sparkle.

Though she has no children of her own, Mirren has a close bond with her husband Taylor Hackford’s two sons: Rio Hackford, 51, and Alexander Hackford, 44.
Tragically, Rio – who was a working actor and club owner – passed away in April 2022 of uveal melanoma which is ‘a very aggressive and rare form of cancer.’
In a statement to PEOPLE, Mirren and Hackford said that they ‘are both inspired by the life of our son and stepson, Rio Hackford, and heartbroken by his loss.’
It continued: ‘He shared his life’s journey with so many who now mourn him, and at the same time, celebrate their fortune in knowing him.’
Rio welcomed two children, Waylon and Buck Hackford, during his marriage to Libby Hackford, so it is safe to assume that Basil belongs to Hackford’s youngest son Alexander.
Mirren looked thrilled to show her grandson the latest installment in the Shazam! franchise as she graces the screen as one of the film’s villains.
She plays the role of Hespera, who is one of the three daughters of Atlas.
