When is Chelsea vs Borussia Dortmund? 

Potter’s Chelsea will face Dortmund on Tuesday evening, with the game kicking off at 8pm.

The clash between the two teams will take place at Stamford Bridge – where the Blues have won two of the last five games in all competitions on home turf.

The first leg in Germany was the first time Dortmund and Chelsea had met in a competitive fixture. 

Chelsea have been struggling in front of goal all season – and have only scored 25 goals in the Premier League so far. Raheem Sterling and Kai Havertz are the club’s joint-top scorers in all competitions this season with six. The Blues will be hoping that the pair can deliver in the clash with Dortmund.

As for the Bundesliga side, Julian Brandt is the club’s top scorer this season with nine goals in all competitions – with Terzic hoping that the midfielder can score against the Blues.

Reece James is set to hand Chelsea a major boost for the game – with the defender being pictured in training ahead of the showdown with Dortmund after missing Chelsea’s last game against Leeds.

Thiago Silva is set to be ruled out for six weeks after the defender sustained a knee injury in their defeat to Tottenham.

The Blues will be without Mason Mount – with the midfielder suspended after picking up a yellow card in the first leg.  

As for Dortmund, the German side will be without Adeyemi due to an injury.

Goalkeeper Gregor Kobel is facing a late fitness test as he battles a thigh injury. Kobel had to be replaced by Alexander Meyer after suffering an injury in the warm-up of the win over Leipzig.

Heading into the crucial clash with Dortmund, Potter will be hoping his side can progress through to the last eight of the competition. 

The Chelsea boss believes that Tuesday evening’s game will be a ‘big challenge’ for the club – but is looking forward to the game. 

‘I agree it’s a big game, an exciting game, a chance to go through to the last eight of the Champions League.’ Potter said at the pre-match press conference. ‘It’ll be a special night. Our thoughts are on being positive and trying to win the game.

‘It’s a good challenge for us, a big challenge for us. We’re excited for it and looking forward to it.’

‘Stamford Bridge will be rocking. It’s going to be a huge and exciting game,’ said Terzic.

‘We can’t get to thinking that form decides everything. It’s a knock-out game, in which we have a small 1-0 advantage at half-time.’

Potter’s side will be looking to build on their win against Leeds on Saturday in what has been a poor season for the club so far.

In the first leg, the London side showed that they were capable of creating chances and looked dominant until they got into the final third – where their finishing was below par.

As for Dortmund, they will be looking to build on their 2-1 win against Leipzig last week. 

The German side may be looking to play for a draw against the Blues as they are aware that the Premier League side will have to push from the off.
