Police officers have arrested a female employee at Moonlite Bunny Ranch Brothel in Nevada, ending a stand-off with another worker.

As the cops arrived, several more gunshots were heard and the officers immediately began to evacuate the brothel in Carson City, Lyon County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement.

One female employee had fired the gunshots before retreating into one of the rooms at the Moonlite Bunny Ranch Brothel, the Sheriff’s Office said.

After a nearly three-hour standoff, the female employee surrendered to police at 12.33 am on Tuesday and was arrested. There were no reports of injuries.

The Sheriff’s Office said anyone who has any information regarding the case is urged to contact their Investigations Division at (775) 557-5206 or email [email protected].

The Moonlite Bunny Ranch Brothel is one of Nevada’s estimated 20 licensed brothels – as the state is the only place in the US where someone can legally pay for sex.

The sex workers undergo regular tests for sexually transmitted diseases and HIV/AIDS and obtain required work cards from local law enforcement after passing an FBI background check.

The Moonlite Bunny Ranch Brothel was set up by Dennis Hof, who had half a dozen brothels operating in the two counties and starred in the HBO adult reality series “Cathouse’. He died in 2018.
