Britney Spears lashed out over claims her loved ones tried to stage an intervention amid fears she ‘might die,’ while her husband Sam Asghari insisted the singer ‘will make all decisions involving her care regardless of circumstance’ Thursday.
The Grammy-winning singer, 41, denied reports her family and friends reportedly planned an intervention this week due to concerns ‘she would die’ over escalating substance abuse and mental health issues.
‘It makes me sick to my stomach that it’s even legal for people to make up stories that I almost died … I mean at some point enough is enough!!!’ she said in an Instagram post Thursday.
The Toxic artist said she’s ‘probably going to have to stop posting on Instagram because even though [she enjoys] doing it, there’s obviously a lot of people who don’t wish [her] well!!!’
Those close to Spears became alarmed by her ‘erratic’ and ‘volatile’ behavior due to taking medications that ‘hype her up’ and cause her to ‘fly off the handle’ regularly,’ TMZ reported Thursday.
The Oops!… I Did It Again vocalist said she was ‘honestly not surprised at all’ at the reports, though she’s ‘doing the best’ she can.
The …Baby One More Time performer noted that the conservatorship ran by her father Jamie was shuttered in late 2021, giving her newfound independence amid previously difficult circumstances.
She said: ‘Again, the conservatorship has been over for almost a year … No folks, it’s not 2007 … it’s 2023 and I’m making my first homemade lasagna at home’ and ‘finally got my fireplace to work in my living room.’
Spears quoted her husband Sam Asghari, 28, in saying, ‘As my hubby says it best: don’t believe everything you read !!! All that love right back at ya !!!’

The post was accompanied by black text against a pink background that read: ‘A state of gratitude will shift you to a higher frequency.’
The Womanizer songstress spoke out after Asghari issued a statement to Access Hollywood’s Mario Lopez denying that any sort of intervention took place.
‘An intervention did not occur,’ the actor/fitness pro said. ‘My wife is in full control of her life and will continue to make all decisions involving her care regardless of circumstances. Speculation on her health is inappropriate and should end immediately.’
According to the TMZ report, the pop icon is rumored to have not taken her mood stabilization medication as of recently – leading her inner circle to rent a house in LA for ‘several months’ without Britney’s knowledge for an intervention. One source told the publication: ‘I’m afraid she’s gonna die.’
It was also alleged the Toxic hitmaker had become ‘increasingly combative and chaotic’ before her loved ones stepped in, reports People. The Toxic hitmaker sparked concern after she after a ‘manic’ restaurant episode last month.
Spears’ intervention was set to take place at her house where her husband, her manager, doctors and an interventionist would be waiting on Tuesday – with the star set to receive medical treatment and psychological counseling for two months.
But the singer is said to have become ‘somewhat aware’ of the plan and the mediation was scrapped.

A source told People: ‘Britney has been acting increasingly erratically and those around her have grown more concerned. She is often up all night, sleeps during [the] day and has a lot of anger.’
Another insider added that ‘things behind the scenes have been ‘very difficult and absolutely chaotic’ as loved ones urged Spears to get help.
They said: ‘Everyone had hoped Britney could be convinced to seek treatment before things got any worse but they knew it wouldn’t be easy. She’s been going through a lot and has been increasingly combative.
They added that Asghari ‘is being as supportive as possible.’

The latest concerns come after the police were called to perform a welfare check on the pop diva at the end of last month. Concerned fans had contacted authorities to check on her wellbeing when she shut down her Instagram page.
Shortly after she responded to news of the welfare check on her reinstated account, saying: ‘I’m not having a breakdown … I am who I am and moving forward in my life, I have never felt better!!!

A source exclusively told DailyMail.com Friday that Spears is ‘staying positive’ after the police welfare check left her ‘freaked out’.
‘She’s doing okay,’ a source close to Spears tells DailyMail.com.
‘She’s navigating this new life, finishing her book. It’s a process but [she’s] getting there.’
‘The fans calling the cops freaked her out for sure but she’s staying positive.’
Britney hit back after the police visit in a Twitter post and stressed that police never ‘entered’ her house and stayed at her gate – but said the situation went ‘a little too far.’
Around a week prior to the welfare check in January, Spears revealed she had changed her named to River Red and painted a seemingly happy picture of being freed from the constraints of the conservatorship her father presided over until 2021.
‘Being able to volumize my voice in a world where I lost my rights … for 15 years … gives me an opportunity to succeed !!!’ the Oops!… I Did It Again vocalist said.
‘Unfortunately I’m boring as hell and drink hot chocolate at night!!!’ she said. ‘I’ve waited nearly 15 years to drink alcohol only to realize I hate it!!! It makes me sad and I feel bloated, although food tastes better.’

Fans of the singer have lately expressed even more concern than usual after she was seen apparently having a ‘manic’ meltdown at a restaurant last month with her husband.
‘As everyone knows the police were called to my home based on some prank phone calls,’ she began. ‘I love and adore my fans this time things went a little too far and my privacy was invaded.’
She clarified: ‘The police never entered my home,’ and they apparently left shortly after arriving at her gate after finding ‘no issue.’
But the run-in with law enforcement over the ‘prank phone calls’ still left her feeling accosted.
‘This felt like I was being gaslit and bullied once the incident made it to the news and being portrayed once again in a poor and unfair light by the media,’ she continued.
Spears seemed to urge her fans to take a more distanced, respectful approach to her as she concluded her statement.
‘During this time in my life, I truly hope the public and my fans who I care so much about can respect my privacy moving forward. All the love, B.’

Spears has frequently taken down her Instagram in recent months, even claiming one time she ‘accidentally’ deleted her page.
On Wednesday, shortly before deleting her account for the fifth time in five months, the Toxic singer – who was released from a 13 year conservatorship in April 2022 – shared a post slamming online trolls.
She wrote: ‘Rational people… I had one of these and it disappeared!!! I could sit back and be like MOST and not give anyone anything to think about on Instagram…

The deactivation comes after the singer was reportedly been seen ‘talking gibberish’ when fans tried to take photos of her dining with Sam at the JOEY restaurant in Woodland Hills on Friday, before he appeared to storm out, TMZ initially reported.
However, Sam also spoke to a photographer on Sunday and explained that his wife was just ‘frustrated’ that fans were trying to take their picture while they were having dinner.
‘People get a little too excited to see my wife so everybody is filming, doing their thing,’ he explained. ‘But you know how it is, fame comes with the territory and I went to get the car to get the hell out of there, and people just thought I’d left, but that didn’t happen. So it is what it is man.’

‘I’m sure I brought a billion SMILES to me LOOKING LIKE SHREK at a restaurant. Even my best friend couldn’t WAIT TO SEND IT TO ME, THEY DON’T THINK TWICE because we are all natural born killers,’ Spears added.
‘I know the news is all hyped about me being a little drunk at a restaurant … it’s like they’ll be WATCHING MY EVERY MOVE !!!’ Spears continued.

Eyewitnesses allege the Grammy winner became increasingly upset and began ‘yelling’ and speaking in gibberish, which prompted her spouse to storm out.
The former Disney star left the venue a few moments later with her bodyguard, who returned to pay the bill.
It comes after Britney responded to rumors about her former boyfriend Justin Timberlake, clarifying her new heart tattoo ‘had nothing to do with an ex in the past’.
