Harry and Meghan praise 'brave' Greta Thunberg as she opens up on overcoming depression

The Duke and and Duchess of Sussex shared their love story in the Netflix docuseries Harry & Meghan. The streaming giant released the royal couple’s second series on Saturday with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle presented a series honouring influential leaders around the world. 

The series, inspired by Nelson Mandela, shines a light on figures such as Gloria Steinem, Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Greta Thunberg. 

Live to Lead’s second instalment focuses on the young Swedish activist. 

Opening the episode, Harry stated: “Greta Thunberg is a Swedish climate activist who reignited an international movement to fight climate change when she began demonstrating outside the Swedish parliament in 2018.

“In speaking for a new generation her brave campaigning is both an inspiration and a stark reminder that everything we do matters.”

Introducing each episode, Harry said: “This was inspired by Nelson Mandela. Who once said, ‘What counts in life is not the mere fact that we have lived.”

Meghan continued: “It is what difference we have made to the lives of others that will determine the significance of the life we lead.”

“His life left a lasting mark on the world,” Harry added. “A legacy that has helped inspire so many others to stand up.”

“To fight for change and to become leaders,” Meghan said as Harry explained: “So this is in memory of Madiba.”
