Arsenal target Mykhaylo Mudryk excites fans with social media activity after bid made

Arsenal target Mykhaylo Mudryk managed to get plenty of fans excited on Monday evening by revealing on Instagram that he was tuned in to watch his prospective new employers secure a comfortable win over West Ham United at the Emirates Stadium. Mudryk is thought to be at the very top of Arsenal’s list of targets for the mid-season market and is believed to be keen on joining the Gunners next month, although a full agreement is yet to be reached between the two clubs at this stage of proceedings.

Arsenal have reportedly stepped up their pursuit of Mudryk by submitting their first official bid for the 21-year-old winger, although the offer in question is said to fall drastically below Shakhtar’s own valuation of their prized asset. It seems as though it could only be a matter of time before Mudryk is welcomed as a new signing at the Emirates Stadium, though, with Arsenal fully determined to bring him to the club over the next few weeks.

Mudryk set tongues wagging over his future on Monday night by posting a photo to his Instagram story to show that he was watching Arsenal as they cruised past West Ham to extend their advantage at the top of the Premier League table. The visitors found themselves a goal to the good in the first half when Said Benrahma converted from the penalty spot but Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli and Eddie Nketiah went on to hit back after the break to rescue all three points for the Gunners after an initially shaky start to the match from their perspective.

It seems likely that Mudryk’s decision to post on Instagram was a clear indication of his desire to join Arsenal before the end of the January window, with many fans of the north London club taking to Twitter to express their excitement over the proposed move. @sengunalabs01 was among those left delighted by Mudryk’s latest hint, writing: “That’s our player. Get it done ASAP! We can’t wait to have him at Arsenal.”

“Never seen a player want to play for a club so much! I love this,” said @VoiceOfAdeBob, while @AFCHighburEe added: “Can’t remember the last time a footballer made it so clear to the world he wants to move. They just don’t do it anymore. Enter Mudryk. Dude wants to join us. We know it, Shakhtar know it.”

Arsenal are widely expected to submit further bids for Mudryk if their first offer is rejected by Shakhtar, where he remains tied down until the summer of 2026 as things stand. The Ukraine international has previously expressed a desire to join the Gunners by revealing earlier this year that he would be open to joining the Premier League leaders if they come calling between now and the end of the season.

“In the winter we will see,” Mudryk told CBS Sports when quizzed on Arsenal’s desire to snap him up. “There’s been a lot of discussions about a transfer and speculation about what clubs want me.

“I think every player dreams of the Premier League. It’s hard to say but Arsenal is a very good team, very good coach. I like the way they play. From my side I can’t say no, but a transfer is not just up to my decision.”
