Crown Princess Mary was every inch the down-to-earth people’s princess when she boarded a Qantas flight in Sydney on Thursday.
The 50-year-old mother-of-four was pictured making her way through Sydney airport and boarding a commercial flight solo to Hobart early on Thursday, just a day after turning heads on Palm Beach in an olive green swimsuit as she went for a dip.
At the airport, Mary opted for a tailored blue blazer, white T-shirt, white chinos and trainers for the flight.
She paired the relaxed-but-chic look with a pair of glasses, and wore her brunette hair loose and flowing as she carried a tan leather handbag and later wheeled her own carry-on on board.

It is believed Prince Frederik and the royal couple’s four children Prince Christian, 17, Princess Isabella, 15, and twins Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine, 11, will join her later.
The Danish royal family recently spent time in Sydney where they were spotted in Bondi catching up on a walk with good friend and bridesmaid Amber Petty, as well as out for a jog and shopping and swimming at Palm Beach.
While taking a dip, Crown Princess Mary wore an olive-coloured swimsuit. After stepping out of the water she completed her look with a pair of light brown flat sandals and wore designer sunglasses and a hat to shield her eyes.
She wore her hair pulled back off her face for the occasion, and appeared to have on minimal makeup, as she carried an orange tote.

The trip to Australia marks the Danish royal family’s first official visit Down Under since 2013, although Mary made a ‘secret’ trip to Melbourne in 2021 for her 50th birthday.
The visit this time is a private trip, meaning she is not in Australia in any official capacity.
A statement from the royal household read: ‘In December, the Crown Prince’s family will travel on a private Christmas holiday in Australia to celebrate the holiday with HRH the Crown Princess’s family.
‘It has been five years since the Crown Prince coupled together with their four children last visited the Crown Princess’s homeland.’

It is expected that the royal family will be spending Christmas with the Donaldson family in Tasmania, where Mary was born.
It is believed the family will stay at Government House in Tasmania, where they resided during their last visit.
This trip is likely to be a welcome distraction for Mary and Frederik, who have been plagued with drama in the royal household.
Mary’s mother-in-law Queen Margrethe, 82, and her youngest son Joachim have been engaged in peace talks after the monarch announced she would be stripping his four children, Prince Nikolai, 23, Prince Felix, 20, Prince Henrik, 13, and Princess Athena, 10, of their royal titles, which he claimed had ‘hurt’ them.
The love story between Princess Mary and Prince Frederik has been well documented; the couple met in a Sydney bar and Mary, born in Tasmania, moved to the northern hemisphere to be with Frederik (the couple pictured at Queen Margrethe’s 50th anniversary earlier this year)

Joachim, 53, and his second wife Princess Marie, 46, who is mother to his youngest two children, have said their relationship with Frederik and Mary is ‘complicated’.
Mary’s husband, Frederik recently spoke publicly for the first time since his mother, Queen Margrethe II, announced that she would be stripping the prince and princess titles from Prince Joachim’s four children.
Heir to the throne, Frederik had remained quiet since the announcement, but broke his silence to say: ‘It is sad to see how affected he has been by the decision.’
Since marrying Prince Fredrick in 2004, the Princess had been on four royal visits to Australia but has visited her home country at least nine times.
Princess Mary last visited Australia with Denmark’s royals before the pandemic in December 2017, where she was seen enjoying Sydney’s beaches before travelling to Tasmania to spend Christmas with family.
