What Prince George, Louis and Princess Charlotte wore for family Christmas card

Prince George and Princess Charlotte showed they are following in their mother’s footsteps with a love of high street fashion as they appeared in this year’s family Christmas card.

The Prince and Princess of Wales’ picture for 2022, taken in private on the royals’ Sandringham Estate in Norfolk earlier this year, was shot by one of their favourite – and trusted – photographers, Matt Porteous.

In the snap, nine-year-old George is dressed in a smart £55 Ralph Lauren polo shirt, while his little sister Princess Charlotte, eight, wore an adorable blue denim playsuit embroidered with strawberries and red pom-poms, believed to have cost £17 from Spanish brand Sfera.

Meanwhile Kate Middleton showcased her love for sustainable fashion by rewearing pieces from her wardrobe – including a  £255 blouse from M.i.h Jeans, her £18 Orelia hoop earrings and a trusty pair of £59 Superga white trainers.

The picture shows the family hand in hand on a country walk in the summer sun.

William is dressed down in a £115 navy Ralph Lauren shirt, blue jeans and £60 Nike Venture Runner trainers.

George is also in Ralph Lauren, £40 Charlie Chino navy shorts from Trotters’ Thomas Brown collection, and £30 Nike Revolution trainers.

Trotters, an upmarket brand, is a long-term favourite of the royals.

Charlotte complemented her relaxed playsuit with a £30 pair of Hampton Canvas pumps.

It’s far from the first time that Charlotte has been dressed in a Spanish label, which is believed to be the influence of the family’s nanny Maria.

Kate dressed her daughter in the brand m&h for a series of new photographs released six months after her birth in 2015.

And after her birth that May, Princess Charlotte wore a hat by Spanish brand, Irulea, which was bought for her by her nanny.

Little Louis is in a blue and white stripe polo and £40 pale blue chino shorts from Trotters.

Meanwhile the Princess opted for a number of repeated pieces for the Christmas card, including a £255 blouse from M.i.h Jeans and a trusty pair of £59 Superga white trainers (pictured, wearing both pieces in May 2019)

Cheeky Louis, the stand-out star of his great-grandmother’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations back in June, has the same slightly mischievous grin and dark, tousled hair.

Releasing the picture yesterday, a Kensington Palace spokesman said: ‘The Prince and Princess of Wales are delighted to share a new photograph of their family.’

Tomorrow the princess will be joined by the rest of the Royal Family – led by the King and Queen – for her Together at Christmas carol concert at Westminster Abbey in London in a show of unity as Harry and Meghan unleash their latest salvo.

This week’s trailer suggests the couple will blame Buckingham Palace for ‘institutional gaslighting’ and see Harry accuse the Establishment of lying to protect his brother at their expense.

It comes after the King released his first Christmas card as monarch on Sunday, choosing a photograph taken of himself and the Queen Consort at a Highland Gathering just days before the Queen died.

The Palace released the image, taken by award-winning photographer Sam Hussein, selected for the historic seasonal card.

The photograph shows Charles, 74, and Camilla, 75, smiling at the Braemar Royal Highland Gathering on September 3rd, five days before the Queen died on September 8.

It captures the King from a side profile, dressed in a tweed suit with a red, green and beige tie.

Meanwhile, Camilla is seen wearing a green suit and matching hat with a pheasant motif, and pearl earrings.

Kate and William’s photograph also serves as a reminder that Harry and Meghan’s claims they would have been forced to ‘offer up’ their own children for intrusive public consumption had they decided to remain in the UK are as dubious as some of the footage that features in their bombshell ‘docuseries’.

And it comes as sources claim Harry is planning to continue exposing royal secrets into the New Year, as he weighs up a string of offers from major US TV networks as part of his promotional tour for his upcoming tell-all memoir Spare.

The Mirror reports that the Duke has already held discussions to seal a primetime interview slot – most likely with CBS host Gayle King – via his US publishing arm Penguin Random House – which could prove as explosive as the Sussexes’ Oprah Winfrey special last year.

A source told the Mirror: ‘Prince Harry is not stopping talking when the Netflix series is released. In a month he will be out on the promotional trail again.’

What a contrast to the picture painted in recent days by Harry and Meghan (pictured) of a dynasty hampered by the heavy weight of expectation and tradition ¿ and where the men marry not for love, but to 'fit the mould'

They added that Penguin has invested ‘more than $30m (£24m)’ into his book so ‘want to appeal to as many people as possible’, branding a chat with King, who is close to Meghan and Harry, a ‘major coup’ that will ‘attract millions of eyeballs’.

King, 67, has publicly backed the Sussexes’ Netflix docuseries and is considered a close ally of the couple – having attended Meghan’s £160,000 baby shower in New York in 2019.

‘Nothing can be secured really until the dust settles after the Netflix shows. So much could happen, and there could be reaction from the royals,’ the insider added.

The potential deal with CBS is described as ‘very tricky’, but could also see Harry appear on his pal James Corden’s The Late Late Show, which is run by the network, the source said.

The Duke’s publicity-seeking moves across the pond seem a million miles away from his brother William’s priorities back home, where he continues the traditions of his royal household – including the release of an annual Christmas card.
