King Charles to ‘stay out of’ Meghan Markle, Prince Harry drama: royal expert

King Charles III does not want to be involved in the drama surrounding his son Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle.

After the release of Netflix’s tell-all docuseries, “Harry & Meghan,” royal expert Tom Bower talked to Page Six about how the royal family has been handling the conflict.

“Well, they’re shocked by it all,” he shared on Thursday. “The question is only — this is really a story in the air — is whether they’re going to do an interview to rebut the claims, or whether they’re going to strip them of the titles.”

Though people thought the royal family and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex would make amends after the Sept. 8 death of Queen Elizabeth II, the “Revenge: Meghan, Harry and the war between the Windsors” author told us “there was never any chance of it.”

“The whole problem is that Charles hates confrontation, and someone who had dinner with him earlier this week told me that he wants to stay out of it,” Bower explained.

“But I think that it’ll be impossible for him to stay out of it,” he added.

In “Harry & Meghan,” the estranged royals gave an intimate look at how life has been for them since their highly publicized romance began.

Throughout the docuseries, the couple — who share son Archie, 3, and daughter Lilibet, 18 months — expressed how difficult it’s been for Markle, 41, to be part of the royal family as a biracial woman.

Markle — who has a black mother and white father — says she was never treated like a black woman until she moved to the UK.

“At that time, I wasn’t thinking about how race played a part in any of this,” the former “Suits” actress said on the show. “I genuinely didn’t think about it.”

“It’s very different to be a minority but not be treated as a minority right off the bat,” Markle continued. “I’d say now, people are very aware of my race because they made it such an issue when I went to the UK. But before that, most people didn’t treat me like a ‘black woman.’ So, that talk didn’t happen for me.”

Harry, 38, also criticized the royal family for suggesting that the alleged racist treatment his wife received from the British tabloids was a “rite of passage.”

“Some of the members of the family were like, ‘But my wife had to go through that so why should your girlfriend be treated any differently? Why should you get special treatment? Why should she be protected?’” he shared.

“I said, ‘The difference here, is the race element,’” Harry exclaimed.

The royal family has not issued any comment regarding the docuseries.
