Adele’s mega-money residency in Las Vegas started triumphantly on Friday night – but behind the scenes there has been drama, with the singer shunning a luxury suite at a hotel owned by Caesars Palace, where the show is being staged.
The iconic Vegas mainstay offered swanky accommodation at the Palazzo Suites at the Rio Casino as part of her deal to sing at the Caesars Palace Colosseum for a reported $1 million a night.
The suite was said to be a luxury lodging, with a butler thrown in and the plan was for Adele to spend weekends holed up there with son Angelo and boyfriend Rich Paul between now and March.

However, it can be revealed that the $192million singer is instead living in a bungalow on a golf course at the rival Wynn resort just down the road.

Staying there probably gives her increased privacy, as the villas are approached via their own private drive.
A convoy of cars used by the singer were seen heading from Caesars Palace to the Wynn on Saturday after the concert.
A local source said: ‘It’s not clear what caused the move, but obviously it is unusual for Adele not to be staying at Caesars and locally gossip has been spreading.

‘Vegas is well used to divas, and I am sure that the feeling is that whatever makes her feel comfortable is OK, but this is embarrassing for Caesars.’
Another source claimed that Adele had a ‘hissy fit’ after being offered a room in the Palazzo Villas at the Rio, which is an all-suite hotel and casino across from Caesars, when she had expected to be housed in the Augustus Tower.
Both hotel groups have been approached for comment but have not yet responded to DailyMail.com.
Adele has been in Vegas for nearly two weeks going through technical rehearsals for her show, Weekends With Adele.
It was pulled with less than 24 hours before curtain up in January, with Adele saying that Covid delays had hit the planned performance and that it wasn’t ready.

On Thursday she said on Instagram that nerves and anticipation were getting to her. She wrote: ‘I’m feeling all sorts as I write this. I’m highly emotional, incredibly nervous but can’t sit still because I’m so excited.
‘I feel a million miles away from home, I can’t stop thinking about when I was little and saw Tom Jones in Mars Attacks and thought blimey how did he get from Wales to Las Vegas!? I always get scared before shows, and I take it as a good sign because it means I care and means I just want to do a good job.
‘Maybe it’s because I didn’t start when I was supposed to. Maybe it’s because it’s opening night, maybe it’s because Hyde Park went so great, maybe its because I love the show I don’t know. But it’s safe to say I’ve never been more nervous before a show in my career, but at the same time I wish today was tomorrow! I can’t wait to see you out there x’
On Friday, Adele said on stage that she came very close to pulling out again after being ill all week.
“You’re not gonna believe me, you’re gonna think I want a tiny violin to come out and start playing behind my tears, so last week I was sick as a f—– dog, right. I was like s—, if it’s solely my fault for not being able to perform this Friday, I’m done, I’m gonna fall off the face of the Earth.’
She added that she was horribly nervous, saying: ‘It might be a bit wobbly at times because my nerves are out of control ? it’s a bloody massive week for me this week. It’s the Walking Dead finale on Sunday! It’s opening night, it’s the Walking Dead, it’s the Grammys and it’s the World Cup. F—— hell – there’s a lot going on.’
In January a tearful Adele filmed an apology video from her suite at Caesars, explaining: ‘We’ve been absolutely destroyed by delivery delays and COVID. Half my crew and team are [ill] with COVID and still are, and it’s been impossible to finish the show.’ She added: ‘It just aint ready.’
Since then she’s returned several times to the question of why on earth she pulled the rug on a $178million production – and the excuse of Covid has been ditched.
In July she told BBC Radio 4’s Desert Island Disks that the primary issues had been artistic.
And, despite fans losing thousands of pounds in travel and hotel bills, it turned out that the person who Adele felt most sorry for was Adele.
She said: ‘The show was not good enough. Maybe my silence has been deadly, I don’t know. But it was horrible.
‘I definitely felt everyone’s disappointment and I was devastated, and I was frightened about letting them down. I’d thought I could pull it together and make it work and I couldn’t, and I stand by that decision.’
She added that she was proud of what she had done. ‘I don’t think any other artist would have done what I did and that is why it was such a massive, massive story. It was like, ‘I don’t care. You can’t buy me, you can’t buy me for nothing. I’m not going to just do a show because I have to or because people are going to be let down or because we’re going to lose loads of money.’

There was just no soul in it. The stage setup wasn’t right. It was very disconnected from me and my band, and it lacked intimacy, and maybe I tried too hard to give it those things in such a controlled environment.
‘I was embarrassed. But it actually made my confidence in myself grow because it was a very brave thing to do. And I don’t think many people would have done what I did. I’m very proud of myself for standing by my artistic needs.’
The singer had fired set designer Esmeralda Devlin, a hugely respected professional, when ‘in a panic’ in January.

Sources suggest that Adele, who suffers from bad stage fright, had demanded constant changes in the run-up to the opening night, and had never really been clear about what she wanted.
The lake feature, which she was to have been suspended over during a performance of Rolling In The Deep, proved a particular bone of contention, with Adele calling it a ‘baggy old pond.’
She confirmed as much to Elle when she talked about a water feature that ‘looked great for a couple of songs, but then didn’t do anything. It was just there’.
British singer Adele now lives in Beverly Hills in an $11 million mansion with sports agent Rich Paul. She was previously married to British charity boss Simon Konecki.
