Las Vegas girl, 18, escapes from bedroom after her mom and grandma locked her in room for a YEAR

A shocking video shows an 18-year-old Nevada girl climbing back into her home after escaping from a bedroom she was locked in for at least a year by family members.

The girl, who has not been identified, was given very little food and could only go to the bathroom in a bucket in her North Las Vegas home, police said.

The 18-year-old’s mother, Addy Gonzales, and grandmother, Maria Pasarin, were both charged with child abuse and false imprisonment along with Daniel Omezcua.

Authorities were tipped off to a report of a teenager ‘trying to use a ladder’ to get back into her room on November 4.

She had just come back from trying to get food and water from a neighbor’s backyard before attempting to climb back up. That neighbor, who gave her name only as Maria, filmed one such incident where the abused teen sneaked out.

A neighbor, who only gave the name ‘Maria’ to 8 News Now, said that the girl ‘got out and jumped over to our backyard seeking water.’

The victim told ‘Maria’ that she’d climbed down using sheets and tying clothes together and eventually started to drink water from a hose.

‘Maria’ added that she told the girl to call the police, but she refused, ‘saying no one would believe her.’

Another neighbor asked if she needed help, but the victim merely pointed to the ladder to get over a concrete wall back to her bedroom window.

When the police arrived at around 3:30p.m., they found the girl at the second-floor window of the home.

Gonzales, the girl’s mother, tried to prevent police from coming in and said she would check on her child herself.

One officer said that she was locked in the room by a deadbolt that needed a key to be unlocked.

The victim told the cops that her mother only feeds her once per day when she comes home from work. She told them she felt like a prisoner.

Police eventually broke into the girl’s room where they found ‘only a box spring and bed frame,’ as well as the bucket, which was black and ‘half full of what appeared to be urine and fecal matter.’

Child Protective Services had gotten eight reports of abusive behavior at the home but was unable to substantiate them due to a lack of evidence and cooperation.

Gonzales, Omezcua and Pasarin were arrested and imprisoned before being released, as prosecutors had yet to file a criminal complaint. It’s unclear what Omezcua’s relation is to the victim or her mother and grandmother.

The girl’s mother, Gonzales, has worked in the county’s schools as a ‘family learning advocate,’ according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal. The school district said Friday that she’s currently on ‘unpaid leave.’

A Clark County Spokesman said in a statement: ‘This is a tragic event and while Clark County cannot comment on the specifics because of confidentiality and ongoing investigations, we are ensuring that, moving forward, all the support that is needed is available and will be provided.’

All three adults are due back in court Monday.
