University of Kentucky student who called desk clerk 'n*****' and 'b****' is fired from Dillard's

A drunk University of Kentucky student who assaulted a black desk clerk in a violent racist outburst has been fired from her influencer job at a department store.

Sophia Rosing has been removed from her role in Dillard’s Campus Collective Program after footage of her racially abusing a fellow student went viral.

A representative for Dillard’s branded her behaviour as ‘abhorrent’ adding that they ‘do not condone racism or hate in any form’.

The 22-year-old was visibly intoxicated as she stumbled into the dorms on campus in Lexington, Kentucky, before she launched herself at fellow student Kylah Spring who was working the front desk.

The blonde business and marketing major is currently at the Fayette County Detention Center – where she refused to identify herself to officers upon her arrival in the early hours.

Rosing, listed as a Jane Doe because of her refusal to cooperate with officers, will appear in court later today via a video link charged with four offences, including assaulting a police officer.

Other pupils at  the university are  now calling for Rosing to be kicked out of the facility, and are calling for the President, Eli Capilouto, to do more.

Multiple students have slammed Capilouto for his statement on the incident, wanting more stringent measures to be taken.

When asked by DailyMail.com if Rosing would be suspended, the University declined to comment because the disciplinary investigation was ongoing.

Rosing, who is a double business and marketing major, had been working as a representative for the College Fashionista program as well as undertaking an internship with the department store.

On her LinkedIn profile, which has since been removed, Rosing said: ‘I have had an internship in social media marketing and with a visual merchandising manager. Proudly apart of Dillard’s Campus Collective Program!’

A Dillard’s spokeswoman told DailyMail.com: ‘Sophia Rosing was removed from the College Fashionista and Dillard’s Campus Collective communities on Sunday morning effective immediately.

‘Her Campus Media (parent company of College Fashionista) vehemently denounces her behavior and does not tolerate any types of racism, hate speech, harassment, and violence of any kind.’

The role involves regularly sharing outfits and trends for the brand online, with the University of Kentucky account being made private after the allegations against Rosing came to light.

Rosing bragged to fellow students the year before the vile racist incident, saying ‘I’m rich as f*** and you’re obviously not’.

But DailyMail.com can reveal that she grew up in a modes three-bedroom and two-bathroom family property in Fort Mitchell with her parents and siblings.

Her father, Paul Donald Rosing, works as an Technology Executive for Messer Construction Co, but relatives of Rosing have not yet responded to request for comment.

Video posted online showed Rosing barely able to stand as she tries to hit fellow student Kylah Spring, who was working at the front desk of a dormitory on campus.

Students have said the ‘blanket statement’ by the university is ‘a start’ but are demanding that ‘real action’ be taken.

Spring, who was assaulted by Rosing, shared a post which said: ‘Eli, as per usual makes a statement that means jack s*** without action.

‘Sophia Rosing needs to be held accountable and expelled for what she did. We will not tolerate this hate on campus.’

University Police took Rosing into custody just before 4am on Sunday on charges of intoxication in a public place, third-degree assault on a police officer, fourth-degree assault and second-degree disorderly conduct.

Rosing, who is white, calls Spring a ‘n***** b***’ as she tried to restrain her as she attempted to get into an elevator.

‘Could you stop please?’ Spring asks Rosing after she managed to escape Spring’s grasp.

‘Nope,’ Rosing responds simply, before Spring tries to grab her again. Rosing then continues to repeat the racial slur, causing Spring to say: ‘Ooh Jesus, I do not get paid enough for this.’

‘Exactly and you’re a n***** and you’re a b****,’ Rosing responds several times before a voice off-camera tells Spring: ‘I’ve got this all on video.’

A second video  shows Spring and another black student trying to get her to sit in a chair, when Rosing hits out at the second black victim and tries to kick Spring.

A University of Kentucky police officer can then be seen handcuffing Rosing in the dorm as she continued to repeat the racial slur and struggled to stay standing.

Rosing is now being held at the Fayette County Detention Center on a $10,000 bond.

It is unclear if she has retained an attorney to speak on her behalf, or if she will be released today.

In an Instagram post following the altercation, Spring explained why she had intervened in the first place.

She explained that Rosing walked into Boyd Hall, on Martin Luther King Blvd, after Spring had refused her entry because she did not have an ID card on her.

When blonde Rosing managed to get into the lobby she stumbled as she approached the elevators, which concerned Spring who was behind the front desk.

Spring said that is when Rosing kicked her in the stomach, tried to run her over with a shopping cart that was in the lobby and bit her friend

Spring said: ‘I worked a shift tonight where  was assaulted and called a n*****, and someone said other racial slurs towards me.

‘It is a part of our job that if we see a student that’s like very drunk, we are to call an RA to… write a report.

‘So I reach my head out of the desk area, and I ask the girl “Are you OK?”‘ Spring recounted, ‘and she stared at me and started to call me a n*****.’

At that point Spring called the RA and tried to prevent Rosing from entering the elevator, to wait for someone to arrive to help.

She added: ‘And so I jumped in, I tried to move her off to the side, and she just kept going “No n*****, you’re a b****, you’re a n*****, do my chores b****.

‘And she kept doing that as I was trying to sit her down.’

Spring said that is when Rosing kicked her in the stomach, tried to run her over with a shopping cart that was in the lobby and bit her friend.

In an email to students following the altercation, President Eli Capilouto said Spring ‘acted with professionalism, restraint and discretion.’

He noted that the school’s Office of Student Conduct has launched an immediate review of the assault, and that its Student Success teams ‘are reaching out to the student victims who were subject to this behavior to offer support.’

It added: ‘To be clear: We condemn this behavior and will not tolerate it under any circumstances,’ he said, as he vowed to update students with more information as it becomes available.

The disturbing video is not the first instance of Rosing berating other students while intoxicated.

In another video posted shortly after the footage of the assault went viral, Rosing could be seen telling someone off camera at a party: ‘I’m rich as f***  and you’re obviously not compared to what you’re waring.

‘And I can do you and you can’t do s*** about it, especially since you don’t know my last name. But I know God-d*** well who you are.’

Fayette County Sheriff’s department have not yet responded to request for comment from DailyMail.com.
