Stranger Things' Creel House goes on the market for $1.5million in Georgia

The Stranger Things Creel House has hit the market for $1.5million in Georgia. 

The 140-year-old house, located on East Second Avenue in Rome, Georgia, hit the market right before Halloween. 

It features seven bedrooms and seven bathrooms and includes the many rooms feature of Netflix hit Stranger Things’ fourth season. 

‘You will recognize much of what has been prominently featured in the show’s fourth season,’ Realtor Jeb Arp, of Toles, Temple & Wright, wrote on the listing.

Fans of the show will recognize ‘the majestic formal dining room where telekinesis is no longer practiced during meals; an adjoining parlor, perfect for playing Dungeons and Dragons; and a living room ideal for hosting meetings of the Hellfire Club,’ according to the realtor. 

The 6,000-square-foot home home originally sole for $350,000 in 2019 and it was built in 1992 by Colonel Hamilton Yancey and originally called the Claremont House.

The current owners, who were not named, bought the property in 2019 and restored it to it’s ‘original grandeur’ that will create an ‘unforgettable experience.’ 

Original details of the house still remain, including ‘intricate handcrafted built-in bookshelves, cabinetry, large and layered moldings, a custom buffet, and more.’ 

It also has a ‘wall safe’ and possibly the only ‘cast iron urinal.’ 

The gorgeous property features a inlaid wood outdoor foyer, accustomed with an intricate wooden door, spacious porch area, and warm orange lighting, giving it a homey, but haunting feeling. 

The inside foyer features dark wooden floors and a staircase, with a old-fashioned chandelier, antique golden mirror, and several black-and-white photos hanging on the wall. It also features a small fireplace and a small desk area under the staircase. 

It’s living room looks straight out of a Victorian painting, with deep sage walls, ornate rugs, and a collection of elaborate furniture. 

It also features a rounded piano room with a patterned wooden floor and with large drapes covering the tall windows and another chandelier lighting the room.  The entrance is lined with wooden and glass cabinets and is connected to the dining room. 

The dining room features an oval shaped table, big enough to fit eight, and included green velvet cushioned chairs to match the walls and collage of old photos decorate the wall. 

Unlike the traditional feel of most of the home, the home bar off the kitchen has an almost modern feel with a tropical backsplash lining the glass shelves. the granite looking cabinet keep in tune with the green coloring of the home with light paneling.

The kitchen features a long, dark 15 foot island with space to fit eight people and has a black marble counter top. The spacious kitchen features dark green cabinets, a pantry, and white basin sink. the stove has at least eight burners and a double oven. 

The walls, unlike the rest of the house, are white, creating an airy and light feeling. 

It also features a butler’s pantry that has a wet bar, ice maker, and more cabinets.  

The bedrooms feature antique bedframes and dark paneling, while the bathroom are equipped with modern glass showers. 

‘Creel House’ also has many outdoor spaces and a large back patio, perfect for entertaining and watching Stranger Things. There is also a guest house behind the main property that has three bedrooms.

Prior to being a home, the house was a bed and breakfast and is equipped with a fire escape and sprinkler system, according to the listing. 

Although the house isn’t haunted like in the show, Arp joked the new homeowners shouldn’t be too ‘surprised if you find some residual demogorgons skulking about the property.’ 

And if ‘things get too strange and even go awry, a funeral home is located nearby,’ he joked. 

Even more exciting for Stranger Things fan, the series Pennhurst Mental Hospital was filed less than five miles away at the Ford Buildings at Berry College.
