Tanya is the self-proclaimed “UK Queen of Hacks”. She shares home hacks, and cleaning and decor tips on her TikTok account where she has a hue 588.9K followers and has amassed 5.1M “likes” on her videos.
This one detailed a way to clean your floor even more efficiently. All you need to do it is a small bucket.
Tanya told her followers: “This hack right here is a game changer. This hack will blow your mind.”
Tanya takes a small bucket and puts it in her mop bucket. She then pours her floor cleaner, diluted with boiling water into the bucket.
She uses this mixture to clean her floors and then rinses the mop as usual. However, this means the dirty mop water isn’t mixed with the clean water she then dips her mop into.

“This way you’re only using clean water to mop your floors,” Tanya said, “Isn’t this hack amazing?”
TikTok users flooded in to praise the hack. One said: “This method is a much better alternative as you are not dipping in the dirty water…you are dipping in clean water each time you mop.”
Another said: “You make me want to write all your hacks down in my hack diary. P.S. Can I borrow that mop?”
“Why have I never thought about this?” one asked, and another said: “Genius. Hands down.”
Another remarked: “You should have just gone on Dragons Den, could have made a fortune. Thousands will be doing this, I most definitely will.”
“This is ingenious!!!” another said, “and using boiling hot water makes a huge difference.”

While this hack was dubbed “ingenious” another has been strongly warned against by experts as it can actually damage floors. One hack to clean the floor suggested using washing tablets or powdered detergent on the floor.
However, a flooring specialist told Express.co.uk: “The problem with using powered detergents and washing tablets is they are designed for extremely high heat dissolution and are mixed with gallons of water to be safe for use on clothing or dishes.
“On flooring, where your solution is likely to be a couple of litres, the concentration is much higher and it’s not likely to fully dissolve which can cause chemical stains – especially on wooden flooring.”
If it’s the carpet you need to clean, one renowned British cleaning influencer Lynsey Crombie, aka The Queen of Clean, explained how to get a stain out of your carpet.
She told readers it’s important to act as quickly as possible on a stain, with one of four substances. Lynsey explained that “white shaving foam” can be used to clean an unwanted stain if you get to it straight away.
If you don’t want to use shaving foam, Lynsey said “washing up liquid diluted or laundry liquid detergent” will also both work to “remove stains”.
