State police told the station that three officers were struck by bullets.

They didn’t provide details on the extent of the cops’ injuries.

It was not immediately clear what police agency the officers who were shot worked with.

Bristol police and state troopers were at the scene.

A nearby resident told NBC Connecticut that he heard at least a dozen gunshots followed by a 30-second pause and then another dozen gunshots.

“It’s scary, especially Bristol is a peaceful town and it’s scary to hear something like this is happening here,” resident Ted Krawiec told the station.
