Model who killed her British millionaire ex-boyfriend in Spain has been pampering herself

A swimwear model who shot dead her British millionaire ex-boyfriend in Spain has been pampering herself with beauty treatments since being released from prison – while failing to pay compensation to her victim’s family.

Mayka Kukucova, 32, has also been keeping herself in shape with trips to a gym while enjoying glitzy nights out in fashionable nightclubs and day passes to fashionable beach clubs.

MailOnline exclusively revealed last week how she had been freed from jail just eight years after she gunned down wealthy jeweller Andy Bush, 48, in a jealous rage after lying in wait for him at his luxury home on the Costa Del Sol.

Kukucova left her former lover’s family in a ‘state of shock’ after brazenly posting social media pictures of herself, posing in bikinis and topping up her tan in selfie pictures on Spanish holiday beaches.

The model was originally jailed for 15 and a half years for the cold-blooded murder and ordered to pay compensation of £122,000 to her former lover’s daughter Ellie and £30,500 to his sister Rachel.

But a prosecution lawyer confirmed today that the Slovakian killer had still not paid a penny of the compensation, despite promising in 2017 to pay £17.55 a month from her salary working in prison.

It is believed she set up home in the city of Dos Hermanas near Seville after serving the last part of her sentence in an open prison which is known for its relaxed atmosphere and where inmates have access to a fitness centre and swimming pool.

Kukucova is thought to have forged a number of close friendships behind bars with other women inmates who nicknamed her Kuku, and she is said to have remained in touch with many of them since being freed.

Her Instagram account which has now been taken down revealed that she has visited the exclusive H20 Spa in Seville’s up-market Melia Hotel where a 150 minute pass which includes facial cleansing, body peeling, a body wrap and a relaxing massage costs 90 euros.

Kukucova has also enjoyed peaceful walks among the shady paths and fountains in Seville’s picturesque Jardines del Prado de San Sebastian, and has posed for selfies beside local landmarks such as the Puenta de la Barqueta bridge.

Her Facebook page also suggests she has fitted in visits to the city’s Occo Sevilla pool club and disco, as well as the Wakanda nightclub.

Closer to home in Dos Hermanas, she enjoys socialising in the Mare bar and restaurant which has its own pool and is acclaimed for its fine Asian dining, and has attended fitness classes at the town’s Crossfit gym on a business park.

Her Instagram account also revealed that she had been on a day trip to the Tirolina de Islantilla zip wire park, west of Seville.

It is believed that her licence conditions prevent her from leaving Spain, but that has not stopped her going on road trips around the Spanish mainland, visiting Barcelona and her old haunts on the Costa del Sol.

Some of her social media pictures, show her brazenly posing in a black and gold bikini at the Opium beach club in Marbella where cocktails cost 20 euros.

MailOnline exclusively revealed last week how she had also jetted out to join her Slovakian parents Danka and Lubomir on a sunshine break on the Spanish holiday island of Majorca.

Kukucova was aged 24 when she lay in wait for Mr Bush in his villa and shot him twice in the head and once in the shoulder with a .38 revolver as he turned up with his glamorous new Russian lover in April 2014.

She fled to her family home in Slovakia, but was extradited back to Spain where she was convicted of his murder after a four day trial.

Kukucova had her sentence reduced a year later to 13 years and nine months – but was released early from jail after persuading Spanish authorities that she did not pose a danger to anyone else.

It is believed that she served the last part of her sentence at the Seville Social Insertion Centre open prison, named Luis Jimenez de Asua after the Spanish politician who exiled himself in Argentina during the Franco dictatorship.

The jail where inmates are allowed out for short periods, and where some are permitted to do jobs outside before returning at night, was the largest prison of its kind in Spain when it opened in 2008 at a cost of nearly £11 million.

Slovakian media described it as being ‘more like a resort than a jail’.

A relative in Slovakia said she had originally planned to finish her sentence in her home country when she was allowed to, but changed her mind because she preferred the prison regime in Spain.

The relative said in 2020 that she was keeping busy attending education classes and learning new languages.

They added: ‘She has excellent conditions there, a large swimming pool, a fitness centre, she wouldn’t be so comfortable here. That’s why she decided that to stay there.’

Kukucova is initially thought to have been given an electronic tag to monitor her while she started her new life in Dos Hermanas.

It is not known how she is now supporting herself and what she is doing for a living.

Eduardo Martinez Martin of Law Firm Estepona, who prosecuted Kukucova at her trial in Malaga said: ‘I was as shocked as Mr Bush’s loved ones to see those photos of her sunning herself on the beach.

‘It shows a distant lack of tact and discretion. And it’s pretty disgraceful that she can find the money to go on holiday when her priority if she feels any remorse should be on fulfilling her legal obligations by paying her victim’s daughter and sister the money she was ordered to hand over to compensate them for their loss.

‘She indicated at the end of 2017 she was willing to pay 20 euros (£17.55) a month from the salary she received for working in prison.

‘The court accepted that but I haven’t been notified any payments were ever made. Around that time she had another ten years left to run on her sentence which was due to expire on December 30 2027.

‘If she had made the promised 120 payments of 20 euros (£17.55) a month, it would have meant her paying just 2,400 euros (£2,105). The holidays she seems to have enjoyed in places like Majorca will have easily cost her that.’

Prison seems a world away for Kukucova as she looks glamorous in a bikini on the Spanish sands after being freed from jail

Kukucova started dating former body builder Mr Bush – known to his customers as ‘the King of Bling’ – after he gave her a job at one of his chain of Gold Trader shops in Bristol.

The couple enjoyed a luxurious lifestyle splitting their time between Mr Bush’s five bedroom home surrounded by seven foot high walls near Chepstow racecourse in rural Monmouthshire, and his Spanish villa in Cancelada outside Estepona.

But their relationship became turbulent as Kukocova flew into frequent tantrums, and jealous rages, and constantly checked his computer and mobile phone.

Mr Bush who had a fleet of luxury cars including a red Ferrari convertible, a grey Lamborghini and a top of the range Hummer 4 x 4 which he kept in Spain, finally dumped her in November 2013 after a two and a half year relationship.

He then started a relationship with Russian student Maria Korotaeva, 23, after meeting her at a Costa Coffee in Bristol.

Kukucova is said to have hidden for two days in Mr Bush’s villa without his consent before he and his new lover flew out for a romantic break and arrived there on April 5, 2014.

Gold dealer Mr Bush who is said to have proposed to Miss Korotaeva just hours earlier over dinner found his former girlfriend in his bed, but she refused to leave.

He told Miss Korotaeva to wait in his car while he talked to his ex-lover, but she then shot him three times inside the villa. She fled after placing the gun in Mr Bush’s hand to make out that he had shot himself.

Kukucova ordered terrified Miss Korotaeva out of her ex-lover’s £60,000 gold-plated Hummer, saying that he had given her permission to drive it to the airport.

She abandoned the car nearby, and called a former boyfriend in Slovakia for help.

He flew over to Madrid to meet her and they drove back across Europe to her home town of Nova Bosaca where she gave herself up to police.

Kukucova refused to comment about her new found freedom when contacted by Slovakian magazine Plus Seven DNI. She reportedly said: ‘Thank you for the offer, but it is not current at the moment, and I need to consider offers from other media as well.’

Kukucova claimed during her trial in Malaga that she acted out of self-defence and ‘insurmountable fear’ after Mr Bush attacked her, but the jury dismissed her story and convicted her of murder.

Mr Bush’s ex-wife Sam Mason, the mother of his daughter Ellie, now 27, blasted her after the verdict, by tweeting: ‘Hope she rots. At no stage has she apologised to my girl. Blaming Andy, low life scum.’

Judge Ernesto Carlos Manzano could have jailed Kukucova for up to 22 years, but ruled it was essentially a crime of passion, and that she had acted in ‘a passionate state of mind’.

Mr Bush’s grieving sister Rachel Bush, 49, told MailOnline exclusively on Saturday how she was more certain than ever that Kukucova had no remorse.

Ms Bush said: ‘She’s carrying on as she’s always carried on with no remorse.

‘I understand she’s on parole and her sentence hasn’t yet expired but it’s absolutely ludicrous to think someone can do what she did and be out on the streets so quickly.

‘I was shocked to see the pictures and discover she was out of jail. I had no idea and found out from the papers. It’s total madness.

‘She’s always tried to make out she was innocent and didn’t do what she was convicted of and claim Andy shot himself during a fight which is just bulls**t as we all know.

‘She believes her own lies, she always has. What she committed was cold-blooded murder. She shot Andy when he was falling or he was on the floor.

‘She didn’t accidentally kill him, she purposely killed him and she’s allowed to be out there free. It’s unacceptable.’

Ms Bush added: ‘I am under the understanding that she has been released on parole but has to stay on Spanish soil. It’s all a massive shock to me. I wasn’t aware this could possibly happen. I thought maybe her release date would be at least another five years off and that’s something you try to prepare for.

‘To be suddenly told she’s out and has been for a while and see all the pictures and photos she’s posted has left me sickened. She’s no different to the way she was before.

‘The compensation hasn’t even come into my mind. It’s not about the money. But I don’t want her life to be easy and it seems to me she’s had it easy.

‘I heard she was in a prison with a swimming pool and now she’s out there living the life. She can’t live on fresh air and I wonder where her money’s coming from. I know for a fact her family doesn’t have any money.’

Miss Korotaeva told in a book last year that she believed Kukucova was actually instructed to carry out the killing over her his plans to establish a jewellery business in London.

She claims he received death threats in the weeks before his murder, but that they did not report them as they did not take them seriously.

Speaking of Kukucova, she said: ‘I’m now worried she may come find me when she gets out. God knows what she is thinking. What is in her head?’
