Reese Witherspoon looked like a ray of sunshine as she arrived for an interview Wednesday in a rain soaked New York City. 

The actor, 46, brought a splash of color to the gray streets, wearing a belted lavender sheath with silver sling-back heels. She was also seen with a camel coat on.

The star has been promoting her new children’s book Busy Betty.

The Oscar winner was invited to chat about her new book, Busy Betty, on The View.

The Reese’s Book Club founder has participated in two previous tomes.

Whiskey in a Teacup: What Growing Up in the South Taught Me About Life, Love, and Baking Biscuits is  an homage to her grandmother, Dorothea Darby, and her southern heritage.

She also contributed to the photography book, Homegrown.

This is the author’s first time writing for kids and she collaborated with Xindi Yan on the illustrations for the picture book.  

Introducing the story on social media, the excited author explained, ‘I put my heart and soul into creating this spirited little character based on my younger self, and I can’t wait to hear what you and the kids in your life think!’

She explained that readers will love the character because she is ‘an adventurous little girl’ who ‘turns a mess into success’ and encourages kids to ‘tap into their own creativity.’ 

The busy star and Hello Sunshine president, Lauren Neustadter, 42, were recently named The Hollywood Reporter’s TV Producers of the Year for their work on The Morning Show and other projects.

The pair have made their mark focusing on female stories from female storytellers. 

The company’s next production will stay in the kid-friendly area, creating an reimagined version of the classic Goldilocks and the Three Bears. The Hollywood Reporter described the animated film as ‘a modern take on the classic tale that leans into the title character as a powerful female protagonist.’

Hello Sunshine is partnering with the popular Build-a-Bear company for the project.
