Kaye Adams age: How old is the Strictly Come Dancing star?

Scottish television presenter Kaye Adams made her Loose Women debut back in 1999. Since that time she has appeared on a range of programmes such as Celebrity MasterChef and The Celebrity Circle, but she’s never been filmed dancing. That will all change later this month when she sets foot on the ballroom floor for Strictly Come Dancing’s 2022 launch show. Here is everything you need to know about Kaye and her age.

How old is Kaye Adams?

Kaye attended Abbotsgrange Middle School, in Grangemouth, Scotland, before going on to study at Grangemouth High School.

After moving to the fee-paying school St George’s School, in Edinburgh, Kaye studied economics and politics at the University of Edinburgh.

She started her career in media at Central Television where she secured an hour-long interview with former Conservative prime minister Margaret Thatcher.

Kaye was born just a few days after Christmas Day on December 28, 1962, which makes the presenter 59 years old.

Kaye is in a relationship with Ian Campbell, a tennis coach, whom she shares two daughters, Charley and Bonnie, with.

Following a news career for programmes such as ITV Weekend Live, Kaye landed a role on ITV’s Loose Women.

She anchored the programme between 1999 and 2006 before returning to co-anchor the show in 2014.

She’s known for being close to her Loose Women co-star Nadia Sawalha who praised Kaye after she announced live on air she’d be appearing on Strictly Come Dancing 2022.

“My hearing is an issue, to the extent that I’ve had full consultations and examinations on my ears,” Kaye told The Sun.

“It’s probably getting to the stage where it’s getting problematic in certain situations.

“I have been recommended to get hearing aids. One ear, in particular, has a very poor level of hearing and the other one is trying its best to compensate.”

The presenter has been keeping her social media followers up to date with her progress behind the scenes.

She candidly shared a photo of herself lying on the floor of a dance studio with her head in her hands.

She captioned the image: “Let’s just say it was a hard day at training yesterday… Slow and (un)steady wins the race, right!?!!” (sic)

However, her fans have faith in Kaye and sent her encouraging messages ahead of the Strictly launch night.

The Strictly Come Dancing launch night is on Friday, September 23 at 7pm on BBC One. The first live show will follow at 6.45pm on Saturday, September 24.
