Chris Rock asked to host 2023 Golden Globes for a ‘s–t ton’ of money: report

The Oscars producers aren’t the only ones slapping around the idea of getting Chris Rock to host an award show.

The 57-year-old comedian has reportedly been offered a “s- -t ton” of money to host the 2023 Golden Globes, according to Puck.

But the “Everybody Hates Chris” alum apparently doesn’t love the idea of raking in the big bucks by capitalizing on the viral moment of Will Smith, 53, walking onstage and slapping him at the 2022 Oscars and declined the job.

The alleged ask comes a few days after the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, the organization behind the Golden Globes, announced that it had signed a one-year deal with NBC to broadcast the Globes on Jan. 10, 2023.

This comes after the network pulled out of broadcasting the 2022 award show due to a lack of diversity within HFPA, as well as alleged ethical wrongdoings.

Rock was also allegedly asked to host the Oscars next year, too, but declined.

The “Grown Ups” star also claimed he was offered — but refused — a post-slap Super Bowl commercial, according to AZ Central.

In fact, he hasn’t said much about the incident publicly at all. Instead, he’s worked the topic into his stand-up tour with Dave Chapelle around the world.

“Yeah, that s- -t hurt, motherf- -ker — but I shook that s- -t off and went to work the next day,” Rock said onstage while performing alongside Kevin Hart and Chappelle at Madison Square Garden in July. “Anyone who says ‘words hurt’ has never been punched in the face.”

“I’m not a victim, motherf- -ker,” Rock declared the following day in Holmdel, New Jersey. “I don’t go to the hospital for a paper cut.”

But not everyone was laughing when he joked in Phoenix, Arizona, that going back to the Oscars would be like asking Nicole Brown Simpson “to go back to the restaurant” where she left her eyeglasses before she was killed.

During a UK show in Liverpool, Rock quipped to Chappelle: “The motherf- -ker hit me over a bulls- -t joke, the nicest joke I ever told,” referring to Smith.

Chappelle then took the mic, chiming in, “Will did the impression of a perfect person for 30 years, and he ripped his mask off and showed us he was as ugly as the rest of us.

“Whatever the consequences are … I hope he doesn’t put his mask back on again, and lets his real face breathe,” he continued of the “Men in Black” star.

Smith, however, apologized publicly in a YouTube video posted in July, but said Rock was “not ready” to talk one-on-one.

The Post has contacted reps for Rock and the Golden Globes for comment.
