“For me, it was born out of ownership of what I call a radical inventory of self, getting really brutally honest with me and taking account of those I may have hurt, moments I have just gotten wrong.”
Unlike Brad, who never underwent any formal training, 64-year-old Nick, who is known for fronting the rock band Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, studied art at a university in Melbourne before deciding to focus on music.
Nick created 17 hand-painted ceramic figurines, one of which was called “the life of the Devil in 17 stations”.
The figurine reflected his life-long interests in religion and mythology. His work also nods to his interest in Victorian Staffordshire Flatback figurines, of which he is a collector.
