Earlier this summer, the Platinum Jubilee concert was opened at Buckingham Palace with Queen and Adam Lambert performing We Will Rock You. Military drummers joined in as the late Queen Elizabeth II and Paddington Bear tapped along to the beat together in their much-loved sketch.
This was 20 years on from Brian May opening the Golden Jubilee concert by playing God Save The Queen on his electric guitar on Buckingham Palace’s rooftop.
The 75-year-old appeared this time from a rising platform on the Victoria memorial, which some fans didn’t feel was as impactful as the original.
However, in the aftermath, the Queen legend shared footage from a different angle that showed off just how impressive his new entrance at the Platinum Jubilee had been.
On the new angle, he added: This alternative viewpoint – I’m not sure how he pulled it off – actually DOES show how risky and exhilarating it really was. From up there in the sky I had the ultimate view of the vast crowd thronging The Mall. And I can still feel the adrenaline pumping through my veins ! Thanks @londonviewpoints – great job !
